Can't wait until full colour e-ink frames are a thing.

Our paintings are all originals, but for those legendary paintings you could never own, I'd rather just get quality prints on the wall so I don't find the subscription appealing. However as a photo frame, it seems like its about the best thing on the market. Tempting to get one for my grandmother to run a playlist of photos of great/grandkids. Cheers for the review. The price seems fair to me for a quality screen.

I would like to know whether I can simply stick in my SD card and simply enjoy my own artwork if am not interested in the smart phone App and the rest of the drama.

It's a cool idea, but the aspect ratio definitely kills it for me. If I could buy a version at 3:2 so I could put my photography on it without having to crop it would be a lot more appealing.
@chriskeczkemethy3725 жыл бұрын
Yeah, unfortunately that's not likely to happen. They would have a much harder time sourcing those panels, especially at larger sizes. As it is, PC makers like Microsoft have trouble getting high-quality 3:2 screens at 12" and 15".

Make it a square screen and make the white mat digital. No need to swivel for portrait or landscape or panoramic or round, and view all artwork that ever existed in their entirety, no cropping. The digital mat automatically frames the artwork no matter the dimensions (or even remove it if you don't want). You heard it first from me.

Nice to know about this, didn't know there was such a thing. Nah I appreciate you full disclosure, but I'd rather the artists full intended creation on my walls without having an electrical cord. I have archival hand printed poor a physical on the walls in my den, and real paintings on the walls around the house. The art may be "static", but they wouldn't be there if I didn't enjoy them. If I want change, I just switch what room for them to be in. A cherished art piece can change the energy of a room. Add, subtract, whichever, and you don't have to be near or run a cord to an elactrical outlet. But, I consider myself informed because of this critique. Thanks!

This would make a perfect Music Album Art screen for viewing CD's, Digital Music, an alternative to the 12" Vinyl cover

Oooh neat idea. If they made a bigger size it would be great for displaying movie posters in a home theater environment.

I wonder if you could link it, so it displayed what's playing? 🤔

Great review, thank you. I’m considering the canvas II. Would you recommend the 21.5 or 27” frame? Obviously, cost is also a factor.

That cable ... and it must be constantly connected to wifi .. what is the power consumption over a year ?
@AeromaticXD5 жыл бұрын
It does seem pretty neat, but there’s something pointless about it. I can’t quite figure out how to word it, but I’m not sure if it’s necessarily a good way to view art
@ShellstaTube5 жыл бұрын
If it was a permanent fixture ... You'd have to get that power/cable in-wall rather than visible. With different laws and possible bulky power adapters you may require a. A recessed power point behind the frame b. an Electrician.
@andrewrobinsonreviews5 жыл бұрын
Yes, if I owned the Meural (which I may just buy) I'd run the power cable in the wall so as to make it seem as much like a printed frame picture as possible.

This seems like the kind of thing Apple could do really well, and actually have it become a viable business. They'd probably go for a 4:3 aspect ratio like a giant iPad screen and then offer the artwork service for a tidy monthly fee.

I know Netgear now owns many of these digital frame companies and see them as ways to integrated wifi extenders and routers into homes in a far more visually appealing way. Interesting idea, I think.
@jaypr695 жыл бұрын
The elephant you failed to mention is that a portrait image shown on this frame when it’s in landscape mode and vice versa will look awful and that why these things will always be rubbish.
@andrewrobinsonreviews5 жыл бұрын
If you create a playlist of vertical and horizontal imagery the frame will auto select which images are compatible based on its orientation. In the video when you see me turn the frame from vertical to horizontal the video shows how the frame auto switches between the two.
@jaypr695 жыл бұрын
Would’ve been a good piece of information to have included in the video. Still means you won’t see all of your images unless you turn the frame. Or unless you have two frames as previously mentioned.
