Thank you! I've been meaning to get a wireless N64 controller for years. And now all of a sudden there seem to be tons of good options. Definitely going for the hyperkin, though; I hate loose joysticks, especially for fidgety games like the N64's.

Solid video! I've never tried the Admiral, but I'm not a huge fan of Hyperkin's product quality. Retrobit also has a new N64 controller that aims at replicating the Hori mini pad. I've heard really good things about that. But I'm very happy with my Brawler 64!

Thanks! I agree. Hyperkin has an overall quality issue with a lot of their stuff. The brawler is excellent. I just really prefer the admiral's joystick so that's what I typically use. Thanks for watching!

I used the Brawler 64 until I managed to get hold of the NSO Bluetooth N64 controller which I paired with a BlueRetro adapter.

I bought the Hyperkin and found the 'Z' Buttons' locations seem too close to the shoulder buttons. I mostly bought it because it's cheaper but once I have some money to buy three more I'll be getting the Brawler 64 wireless in transparent colors. I haven't even set up the N64 yet but I'm guessing the 2.4GHz connection will be more responsive too. I do like the overall feel of the Hyperkin in my hands though, not bad.

Honestly I get that but it's nice having options. You can always get extension cables but some people say that it adds lag but that's honestly the minority of people who say that. I can only see myself using this controller for games that don't use rumble cause the rumble is important to me.

I remember this being a problem when Nintendo 64 games were released on the Wii Virtual Console due to the analog sticks on the Wii Classic Controller and GameCube Controller having different sensitivity from the N64 Controller making some N64 games harder to play on the Wii, this is most evident in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It also affects the GameCube versions plus Master Quest. I'd imagine the fake Nintendo (GameCube/Wii Classic) controllers would be worse given their poor build quality which would make N64 games (or even GameCube and some Wii games) unplayable if the control stick isn't working right. By the way, avoid the fake "Nintendo" controllers if you see them, they're *not* worth buying. This issue also affects third-party N64 controllers using GameCube or modern-style analog sticks like the Hori Pad Mini resulting in some games being hard to play similar to the issue on the Nintendo Wii. I feel products that include rechargeable batteries don't last well compared to products with AA batteries which I guess could be due to the manufacturer using lower capacity batteries. My Xbox Controller using AA NiMH batteries actually lasts longer than the DualShock 4's controller battery. Also, there's the Retro Fighters Defender controller for PlayStation which would be worth checking out. It'd definitely be useful given that most new PlayStation controllers tend to be cheap fake "OEM" controllers which are inferior to the Sony controller.

It's held up well. But I find myself going back and forth between the two. The brawler's ergonomics and buttons are just better in all aspects. I still prefer the tension of the admiral tho. So take that as you will. Hope that helps!

Overall I'd probably Lean towards the retro fighters controller if I had to make a recommendation. The admiral has a better thumb stick imo, but the retro fighters controller has better buttons and much better ergonomics.

The biggest problem for my is the impossibility to introduce multi button inputs for example to reset the everdrive 64 or activate/deactivate the deblur feature of the RGB mod board. Also maybe something personal but I find the joystick too sensitive. I like more the admiral stick.

Have you tried the new retrobit n64 bluetooth dongle? Can use xbox series x/s & ps5 controllers ,& abunch of others. Can't find any videos on it yet. On Aliexpress & has good reviews. Check it out

no offense but I have the Retro-Bit Tribute and Hyperkin Admiral, and I was looking for some Review's of the Brawler 64. because the Tribute is a bit small for my hands but its perfect terms of the build quality, feel, stick and buttons. and I'm only using the admirals dongle for Backing up my savegames ATM and the controller is just so bad IMO the tumbstick is to small and stiff, the shape if it just feels bad in my hands and the buttons are just meh.

No offense taken, I do prefer the shape and the buttons of the brawler 64, but I actually like the stiffness of the admiral stick personally. I find the brawler to be too sensitive especially when comparing it to the original N64 controller which has somewhat of a stiff analog stick to begin with. You can't play racing games
