I bought mine today. I will use to beat match house and funk tracks, at home, streaming and some bars using DVS. I will not risk to try on clubs, but I think for the home and professional use (bars without a massive sound system) they can handle well! Thanks for the review, helped me to make my. mind about it.

Hey guys, I have been djing for around 20 years. I love the Technics 1200mk2. Unfortunately I couldn't find any in good condition to buy. I decided to stick with the PLX-500. I was very disappointed on the first time using it. Then I realized that the original slipmats from Pioneer that came with the turntable sucks big time. I got a pair of butter rugs and the turntable works amazing now!
@digitaldjtips7 жыл бұрын
Good tip! Thanks for sharing. Which slipmats id you go for? :-)

I have A PLX-500, I think it's a great deck, as you said it's a difficult to scratch and it was a bit frustrating at first time, and I could afford 3x more money to have the PLX-1000, now, I just add a layer of plastic below the mat to avoid stop the motor and use a Phase MWM, it helps a lot

So if not this table, what would you recommend as the best affordable companion to my classic SL-1200 MK2? Since the PLX-1000 is out of my price range, would it be the Audio Technica AT LP120? I know it's heavy and more solid with construction like the 1200 with a more powerful motor or so I've learned but some claim it has problems like motor noise and preamp degrading the sound quality.
@ikonhero3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your honest review. I still think this will be a decent turntable for me as I'm not into scratching and just want to mix some proghouse classics at home. Also I will be using headphones mainly. Looks like this one is gonna be my choice as the high end turntables are at least twice as expensive.

The material from which the turntable is made does not transmit vibrations in any way, because it has adjustable feet (you can easily turn them up and activativate the vibration damping system). I wish you had checked it out, Joey.

Trust me this would vibrate terribly in any pro environment, Joey knows his stuff.

i'm really interested in your thoughts on the reloop rp-2000. I can barely find any reviews out there on it apart from the basic video demos explaining its features. I'm not professional DJ or anything. i've played gigs both dj and live but i'm looking to build a small dj setup at home for some house/techno vinyl collection (that i also need to start collecting more of) i gave up on DJing a long time ago coz it was honestly too boring for me with all the computer controls and i focused more on production and live playing but i feel like vinyl DJing will be a fun challenge for me to learn

@houstoner4 жыл бұрын
Yes they are cheap, but getting them in a couple Ody coffins and putting towels under them in the coffin really help with insulation if planning to play them out. Haven't had many issues unless someone intentionally bumps your table or something. But even 1200s will skip when that happens. And the stock cartridges are crap, but can get the job done until you can replace them with something of more quality.

I don't really understand. If Technics 1200 mk2 has 1.5 kgf·cm torque and this turntable has 1.6kgf·cm - how can it be weak ? By specs the torque is even a bit better than the technics. So shouldn't it be great ???
@digitaldjtips7 жыл бұрын
What is written on paper and how they work in real life are tow completely different things. I have extensive experience with these decks and they are decent but they aren't the best. They certainly aren't as powerful as 1200s - Christian :-)
@Blahdnb6 жыл бұрын
they have at least 0,8 kgf.cm but its still acceptable for dj needs.
@D_2_da_K876 жыл бұрын
It has 1.6kgfn per cm 'start up' torque not the same as continuous torque. Technics have 1.5gfn per cm start and continuous torque. Brand manufacturers are reluctant to detail continuous torque specs.

Any good for mixing jungle/drum n bass, had Technics 1210 mk5, unfortunately had to sell them, I would love some Technics but too expensive, they have literally doubled in price, I'm a bedroom dj, been considering these because of the price

I make beats on a mpc but want to start using decks too. I thinking of getting a set of decks very soon and I am am totally new to DJing. I was thinking the PLX 500 but I heard that if you really want to scratch it would be better to get the PLX 1000. I was wondering if anyone knows if you can use both the 500 and 100 together? And do you know if there will be any sort of "leg" by using different decks? Was thinking of using the 1000 to do all the real scratching and the 500 to keep a beat with minimal scratching. Cheers
@DavidB177987 жыл бұрын
does the weaker motor influence the speed of the track on time code, too or does it continue right after letting the Turntable go at the original speed of the Track? I know it's kinda a noob question, but I never had dvs and think about upgrading. Are there maybe other good turntables in the price range of 200-400? nice vid btw 😋

Digital DJ Tips Thanks, is there any amplifiers that would work with 3.5mm headphones? I can't figure out what exactly I need for a cheap price
@digitaldjtips4 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't really bother with that for casual vinyl listening, you can buy little record players with built in speakers for this kind of thing like the Numark PT01 (the touring version NOT the scratch version)
@themememan5044 жыл бұрын
Digital DJ Tips I'm mostly using it for the luxury of its pitch shift function, but I managed to find a cheaper turntable with the same features and integrated preamp, and speakers with a built in receiver. Maybe I can learn some digital as well along the way. I really appreciate the advice, though!

Reloop RP-2000 is actually the same turntable like PLX-500, but much cheaper. I own it, but I use it for hifi listening only. In terms of build quality it will last for a long time if you just listen music, but is still too weak for regular DJ use. If you need a DJ table, then you will have to buy Reloop RP-7000 or PLX-1000.

It's too expensive for what it is. There are so much better tables in that pricerange, you really pay the pioneer tax. I've opened one of these and internally its all cheap components. Even for simple homeuse it's too expensive, you can get a Audio Technica LP5x for the same price which is a much much better table.
