@@digitaldjtips neither does criticism! If you can't take it, don't put yourself on a public forum! My suggestion, give 80% of your review to the point of the product, the sound quality, and 20% to the physically of the product, as that's what people want to mainly know about.

Regarding folded up headphones, can't you guys interview suzuki tsuyoshi and ask him why he do what he does with his headphones? Just look upp a video on him and you know what I mean. Nice overview as always btw . Keep up the good work!

What do you think of level limited headphones? I've tried ones from Canford in the UK and was surprised how loud I must be playing and potentially doing bad to my ears.
@digitaldjtips3 ай бұрын
DJ headphones need to be loud, IMO

Their first pair of headphones? You reviewed another pair of Adam headphones a few years ago - the SP-5 🤔

all i want is headphones that will make me perceive the power of bass they way i would in a live soundsystem setting. plenty of cans come close when you're pressing them to your ears with your hands, but few deliver in their default state. I used a dodgy pair or sony XB something for a while and now I'm on the hunt for something better with the same bass punch

We think these are pretty good for that as said in the review

Thanks for the great content! 👍 I'll have to check them out. Btw ATH-M50 x is a pretty common low to mid range monitor headphone choice for music production, that is in the same price range.

Thanks for this helpful review. I'm a bit stuck, trying to decide whether to stick with headphones or make the move to an iem. For hearing health, do people just use ear plugs if sticking with headphones?

I'm really after a new pair given how crap HD25's have become. I was keen on those wireless ones you showed recently, but 600 USD for DJ headphones... I mean thats halfway to a decent good pair of proper listening headphones/IEMs - which I have about 15 pairs of & am saving up for some new Kennerton Planars (Russian brand - not cheap, but criminally underrated & beautifully made with unbelievable sound). Ideally I'd just want a bigger, better HD25 with better isolation and a swivel joint or a flexible pair that don't stress the build too much when I put one side in front of my ear . 350 USD is my kinda budget. I've been offered a 2nd hand/barely used pairs of Ultrasone Sigs for about $300 locally (I'm in Thailand so not spoilt for choice here, but can import & stomach the tax if need be). The solid bass thump that I can actually feel is really important as that's always been what I zero in on (I only really play dnb, occasionally old techno) when mixing. What do you think of these/the Ultrasone/or anything esle I can check? I did see those Pioneer that Garnier uses & if they're good enough for the boss... These are purely for DJ-ing. I'm a headphone/IEM addict & have so many high end listening options, I can't see a 350 DJ option really doing the business.

DJ headphones are for cueing and maybe checking the next track - I'l use anything closed back and loud for that, frankly. Probably not the person to ask about the finer details

I find headphones that are good for DJing aren't particularly great for producing, and vice versa, due to the nature of the EQ curve in their design. For DJing it's not required to have a flat response on the EQ, the top end becomes very fatiguing on the ears, whereas the low-end boost on DJ based headphones isn't helpful when trying to engineer tracks in the studio. I feel like if a headphone is going to try to compete for both markets, they'd need some kinda switch on them to switch from DJ mode to Producer mode, which inherently adjusts the EQ within the headphone.
@digitaldjtips2 ай бұрын
I hear you, plus for producing and long term listening I prefer open backed. But they obviously think there is a market here
@robenneal2 ай бұрын
@@digitaldjtips I use the Adam A7X as monitors and they're fantastic, and I was interested in these for headphone mixing alongside... but if they're tailored also for DJs then that really puts me off as I need a flat response headphone, not ones with added oomph in the low end. I believe they're showcasing these at ADE next week so I'll go check them out and hear for myself.
