Truly a testament to how good rasterized results can look. There's a difference for sure but it's such a subtle one because the rasterized scene is built so well. Is it worth the time and effort to make these scenes look good when you can do something more accurately with faster results? I absolutely think so.

Screen space reflections are a complete joke by the way. Man, am I the only one who feels like all unreal engine games look the same? Even though they have vastly different textures and models... But somehow they all look the same. I don't know what it is but I can immediately tell if such game is unreal engine or not. Is it the lighting system? The volumetric system that gives away? The reflections? Something is the same across all these games that gives it away.
@Lishtenbird3 жыл бұрын
Definitely not the only one. My bet is on the lighting - the way light spreads across materials and reacts to them seems to just always give out the engine, especially when games today want to put more contrast and sharpness over everything to boost that punchy game "realism".

The game looks decent enough. RT adds so little in visual terms it's pointless. Especially considering the performance hit. If it weren't for images side by side, almost no one could tell the diference.
@jorismak3 жыл бұрын
Well, some people are more sensitive to it. It can really help in gluing the picture together, and it can sometimes feel more 'real' to me, even at lower resolutions. But I wouldn't lose sleep over it if I can't enable it or the game runs too slow with RT enabled. But personally, I would happily use DLSS + RT at a lower-end card over running the game with RT off but at native res, for example. If I have to choose between RT and < 60fps, or No-RT and >= 60 fps, it would be No RT. Like I said, this is all personal. And heavily influenced by the games you play and how you play them.

So there is no way to force Quality DLSS mode in this game? This is a bit underwhelming.
@brewski5353 жыл бұрын
Yeah that sucks for convenience, it uses performance mode DLSS which is 4x the base resolution I believe. So you could use DSR or set a custom resolution and change the DLSS quality that way. It's a pain but it should work the same. I have a 1440p monitor so I'll probably run at 5k which is a 4x upscale. That's what I did in Alan Wake remastered and it worked perfectly.8

@@bearpuns5910 oh yeah of course, I think you're right, Alex said it scales depending on output resolution which makes sense. It is called auto after all!
