But for some people they just want to experience the game to be able to formulated their own opinion. Even if the game is average. From my experience I played couple of games what were called average (and it was reflected in the review scores as well) and I liked them enough to rate them as OK games (part of my rating scale: average < OK < good < very good < great < masterpiece). But yeah I do not have a high expectations. And also I agree that getting the game to what was said in promo material is close to impossible (example they put emphasis on the background which seems not to matter that much).

I guess it was a combination of things that make them do it even though someone needed to know there will be backlash. By combination I mean one capitalise on hype (if the game was moved again and again it is harder to keep the hype going), and the afraid of customers rage (remember the death threats that hallo games received when the nms was delayed?) Another reason was to try to get the game out on each system at the same date which makes it harder in comparison to focusing only on 2 or 3 systems. The PS4 and XO versions is something that in my opinion is beyond repair, but again maybe they were afraid to cancel them? Also in fact the current gen is only backwards compatibility not native versions so here they failed as well. It is a bit better on PC but still even if technicalities are better the issues with gameplay remains. I'm just sad. I will play it eventually but I will wait till game is in bargain bin.

@@mravg79 I think the PC version might be where it comes in to its own, the modding community will have at it, probably even fixing the bugs that even the studio couldn't. It would make a great online game, it's much more modern than GTA 5, but I guess we will have to wait and see, if they are wise, they will try to recoup any losses.

@@Rjey45ForteFev By now time wise, No Man's Sky had launched two well sized dlc's adding in about half of the promised content and had a massive update two months later in the same amount of time. Mind you that was with maybe 30 employees. So if CDPR was trying to pull a No Man's Sky they're months behind in timing. tbh the stuff they promised isn't going to happen, the rpg storylines mechanics they promised by themselves would mean a full on rewrite of the game. They'll probably make it prettier and release some night city dlc stuff, but the CEO made it pretty clear he thinks the base game is "great."

Watching CDPR try to fix this game is like watching a car crash-you know it's bad, but you can't look away. One would think the reason Cyberpunk 2077 runs terribly on the lowest common denominators (last-gen consoles) is because they didn't make the game with them in mind, they were prioritizing the PS5/XSX and, later, downgrading the game for those consoles (which is a TERRIBLE idea), but now I'm not really sure that was the case. Hopefully the next-gen patch will be as miraculous as people are hoping it will be.

The game was not made with specific consoles in mind. It seems at the start of development they expected next gen to be widely available before the game's release. The decision to release on currentgen was made late in development and then currentgen was prioritized over nextgen (for obvious financial reasons). So really the console versions are not optimal on any platform. The game will never run well on lastgen and for nextgen (i.e. now the currentgen) it's not optimized at all. I do think the nextgen patch will do a lot of good but I doubt we'll remember this game for its graphics. Which is a shame because the potential was there, as seen on PC.

If any platform was prioritized then it's only and only the PC. PC version had little performance issues at the higher end, and came in bundled with raytracing as a bonus(not advertised). They should have made it PC exclusive first then the console versions later. Even TW3 had issues with last gen console at launch although it wasn't as bad and eventually fixed. It shows CDPR is just not up to the task in console development yet. Played this thing on both the PC and then the PS4 version, the PS4 version I tried felt like the entire game just moved over to PS4 with little consideration of it's horrible Jaguar CPU, and believing on simply making lower resolution and lower graphics quality alone will make it run. Still want to give credit for cyberpunk back then for pushing me to get a GPU upgrade before the GPU prices go up.

It’s still running the PS4 version code and is badly optimized for consoles. I’d expect the next gen native versions to be much closer to the current PC experience but that still won’t fix the NPC/police AI and all the other issues. 1 year minimum before it’s in any shape worth playing, for me anyway.

The PS5 version is restricted to running the PS4 Pro version due to how backwards compatibility works on PS5. The Series X is based on the One X version which is superior to the PS4 Pro, not to mention its easier to add in upgrades on Series X. When the actual nextgen versions launch both the PS5 and Series X versions should be very close.

It will look like the PC version minus the ultra ray tracing settings. They have the cpu power to have the larger crowds and draw distance of PC. To be honest their games on pc have bad far away textures and pop in that gets worse with every patch. Witcher 3 had some awful far away lods on pc and shite textures in places. The game seems like a compromised by last gen effort anyway but hopefully next gen console gamers will get the best version soon enough for whatever that counts for.

Great video as always. Once they get the game optimized, next gen upgraded, and finished with the big patches. I would still love to see them work on two major things I wish was in game, better NPC AI + Life Cycles, and a more interactive world. Whether it's NPCs interacting with the player, with each other, and with the world, or your character being able to sit at bars drink (beyond mission related), dance with people/pick them up at a club, karaoke, previewing wardrobe at clothing stores, hair cuts, tattoos, more gun range and other mini games, seeing yourself eat the items from your menu, physics. I know some of this may never come, but some are also basic things in most open world games for the past decade. It's still one of the most beautiful/vertical amazing design City/Worlds. The Aesthetics really appeal to me and the story is great.

Honestly the last gen versions are a mess. The PS5 version has almost no NPCs, and terrible texture and resolution quality. The Series X version still has an unstable framerate but mich higher texture quality, actual NOCs on the City and Resolution. Just get the next gen version done for goodness sake.

Love to see them unlock Ray Tracing on the current build of the game. I have this on PC and Series X and can enable Ray Tracing on laptop in software mode as I have a 1660Ti which obviously doesn't have dedicated hardware Ray Tracing. To be fair the performance tanks from an average of around 45-50 down to around 15-20 with it enabled. But would still love to see it in action as the Series X has more than double the raw performance

Judging by CDPR's lack of progress in 8 months with thousands of players testing the game and bug reporting for them, I'm not confident in how much progress CDPR would've made alone, even if they delayed it a year... I think out of everything wrong with this game, the inconsistencies between the series and ps5 has nothing to do with CDPR and more on the "fault" or benefit of xbox backwards compatibility. Xbox is basically going through last gen games and auto uncapping them and forcing the games to run better without dev input for free, something Sony isn't. No hate to Sony on that, but it's why a bunch of games run better on the series s and x despite the ps5 having more power then the S. And keep in mind the ps5 is just running the ps4 pro version of cyberpunk and the series is running the one x, so there's a power advantage for xbox.

I have had the game running on PS4 pro since day one and it's been mostly fine with practically no glitches or major frame rate issues but the graphical settings are so low that it looks hard to look at at times. Especially after you get done looking at a trailer showing off pc gameplay.

Backward compatible games are not running as good as you think on a new system. It needs optimisation and use of the new architecture. The fact that the Series S version of this game is more stable than the Series X says a lot. I also remember having frame drops on Doom Eternal with the backward compatible version, when the native app (with higher resolution and Ray Tracing) is able to run at 120 fps without a problem. Optimisation is key

I started playing on One X, then went to Series X 30fps mode, which was a very nice experience then. It seemed very stable whereas One X ALWAYS felt like close to crashing. After beating the game I tried out the 60fps mode on Series X and suddenly the streets were empty. It was absolutely noticeable, especially for cars which were nearly completely missing. I recommend the Series X 30fps Mode.

@@komred64 30Fps isn't as bad as long as it's stable. 60fps is nice but if your framerate is always between 42 and 58 it's a nightmare... i've played Cyberpunk 2077 on PC but since my PC couldn't handle 60 fps on this game, i just pushed all the settings at max and locked my game at 30 fps. It was glorious really. Now i'm waiting for the Next Gen patch on my Series X (which is more powerful than my PC gaming wise), i don't even expect 60 fps tbh, just the best graphic fidelity at 30fps would be already amazing considering how demanding this game is on PC. Of course 60fps is always a massive bonus and on some games, it has to be 60. But i don't feel like Cyberpunk really need 60fps to be enjoyable.

I really hope they manage to make this a decent enough experience by the time the PS5 and Series X native versions launch. I was genuinly so hyped for this game. But even before release i could smell something being off. And when i heard how genuinly pathetic the release was. Well, it angered me. Despite me having had NO plans to ever buy it on Last gen consoles. The last gen experience could be a window into what propper current gen would deliver. And with even the PC version being only a ok game from what i've heard most say. Well, i still really hope they can fix it. I will not buy the PS5 version on launch. I will wait and see while people propperly playtest it and CDPR can patch that up as well. There's no doubt gonna be issues there at launch as well.

The back compatibility is not quite the same on PS5 as it is on Xbox Series S/X. The Xbox Series consoles are absolutely running the xbox One x enhanced version of the game which is better than the ps4 version of the game. That is the difference. This is also why the game runs more stable on the PS5. I just want to seem them both run in their native versions whenever they come out.

They started the development way before PS5 and Xbox Series were a thing. They didn't have consoles in mind, but PC. They've built this game for PC and you can tell when you play it on PC (it's incredible). They probably thought they could scale down the engine for last gen console but they simply didn't have the time for this. Again, and this is very important, Devs said that they needed more time and some jerks at CDPR didn't listen to them. That's why the game is that bad on last gen (and also because last gen were just very bad consoles in general, from day one). For Next Gen it's different and they need more time to optimise the game for it, but i do believe that the game is gonna be amazing with this next gen patch, simply because PS5 and Series X are as powerful as a good PC today. you have the equivalent of something between a RTX 2070 and 2080 on these consoles, and a very good CPU (which is the major difference with those last gen bricks). It's not that hard to check on the internet about the dev process and when they started though. They didn't have PS5 in mind, it wasn't even a thing back then. Let's wait for this Next Gen patch which, i'm sure, is gonna be something else

As dissapointing as this game has been, I am still very curious how the next-gen patch will do. I really want to love this game. The world is amazing, and it had pockets of extremely well done content when it worked. Will they do a whole relaunch deal with physical copies and all that, or will they just slide a free update in there with next to no fanfare? @no info I tried playing it recently and one of the worst things imo is the way that side missions are handled. You go to a place, kill everyone and maybe pick up some item. Done. And it's soooo boring. There is story, but you get these long text messages or bland phone calls. It all just feels like pointless filler. Go back & watch DF's initial review of this game. It had the same amount of NPC's back at launch. I'm pretty sure he mentions that it "still" doesn't have as many NPC's in this video.

@@nonyabusiness6084 Interesting observation! Wondering why the NPC count is so low on the PS platform then if the PS4 was more powerful than the original Xbox One, and if the PS5 and the Series consoles are effectively the same platform.

@@MiltonGeorges The original Xbox One wasn't as powerful as PS4 when they launched as the guy in charge of Xbox at that time chose to focus on a gimmick camera (Kinect) & gave customers an underpowered console at $100 more. The original Xbox One has been pretty much fazed out & replaced by the Xbox One S & Xbox One X. That said, the Series S runs the Xbox One/One S version of the game & the Xbox Series X is running the Xbox One X version of this game. So it is interesting that even the Xbox One S version (On Series S) has more NPC's than the PS4 version. But the PS5 & Series X are not the same platform. The Series X has a faster CPU, faster RAM & a more powerful GPU with new GPU tech that the PS5 doesn't have. The Series X is an entire PS4 more powerful than the PS5 in just raw power alone. But when you factor in the full RDNA2 GPU of the Series X, it will be even more powerful than that when dev studios start creating games that use those RDNA2 features like Mesh Shaders, Variable Rate Shading & Sampler Feedback Streaming.

@@hntr5495 graphics, mechanics can improve, but the atmosphere is the sum of everything, story, city, music, characters. Atmosphere is there from the start whether someone like it or not. So if someone is bitching about the essence of the game, so what is the sense in following it?

That Series S versus PS5 comparison regarding NPCs....ouch. I know this is one game, but that's very interesting that the PS5 version is lacking there.

It's the ps4 pro version. There is no proper PS5 version yet.

Played this on pc and had a blast. They should of held this back only for next gen consoles and it probably would of been a console seller if there were any.

Even if you ignore the optimization issues, it is still a super mediocre product that was rushed out the door missing obvious content, with barely functional physics, world rendering and AI. I won't even bother talking about how downgraded the RPG choice mechanics got. It's games like these that make me appreciate Grand Theft Auto even more, something we take for granted.

I'm going to wait to buy this game until end of 2022. Hoping they'll finish the true next gen version by then. It was supposed to be in 2022 originally. But they released it early due to pressure. So I haven't turned my back on this game. just waiting and hoping the game turns out to be everything it was supposed to be and more. I'm willing to wait another couple years if I have to.

hate to tell you this but this game wasn't as advertised, no matter how many updates they put out, they cant "fix" the way the game is... I wish it could've been what those trailers conveyed too but i don't think it will ever reach that state.
