Your videos are great and I have such profound respect for your talents and knowledge. I’ve always had an affinity for watches and more recently, what makes them tick. After building things with my hands, I will be making my first attempt at watch building soon. I viewed your tools video from 4 years ago before your major investment upgrade to this video. Looking back to when you began, do you have any recommendations to a new builder/modder on which higher-end tools to purchase starting out? In other words, instead of buying twice, which tools would you tell new folks to take to plunge on, “buy once, cry once”? Thank you.

Can't believe I didn't watch this video sooner. Def going to be on the computer tonight! Hey, do you mod Orients? My Mako USA II needs a new bezel insert and want to put a coin edge bezel on it too. Problem is, I can't find a definite answer as to what bezels fit it, as it's not the same as a standard Mako supposedly.

I'm new to watches and I'm wondering, what is the point of creating a custom seiko? It looks cool but why do people do it?
@littlejackalo53263 жыл бұрын
Tool needs some work. Built a watch, but it kept saying my car was empty, and I saw no "add to cart" button. Clicking "more details" under some of the different options kept bringing me to the cart rather than the pop-up describing the specific piece. Also the lack of options is pretty bad. Not a single bracelet for the turtle case.

I really don't like the seikomidconfigurator. In the past as a modder you'd had to have some talented vision, knowing how to combine the different parts and then bringing it all together to an amazing piece. Now open the configurator and anyone can slap a build together. Takes away the charm of modding to me. Won't use it.
@LumeShot3 жыл бұрын
Fair point! There's definitely some satisfaction from bringing a mental design into reality. Although the configurator does help a lot of beginners who have yet to handle the majority of parts out there, I'll continue to find a way to one-up things regardless

Just looked up how much you charge for a custom mod lol oh dear. I've been selling myself short doing it for a bottle of whiskey a handshake an the enjoyment of making people happy who don't have the dexterity or confidence to do it themselves. Nah I love what I do almost as much as I love whiskey 😜
