Paul plays the false start that only appeared on US stereo version of rubber soul.
@livingadreamlife14285 ай бұрын
That’s a tribute to John Lennon who had the false start on his Gibson J-60e acoustic in the studio. Producer George Martin decided to leave Lennon’s false start on the record.

This is one of his best songs! Very clever pop song. Love has a nasty habit of disappearing overnight. That’s a good line and very true. Thanks Macca! For all the incredible songs! And thanks to whoever posted this. 👏🏻🎸😎

What a belter this tune is. I am an English tutor and if you want an exercise in explaining everyday English dialogue with a plethora of figures of speech idioms and phrasal verbs, this has it all. What a remarkable personality the composer of this tune is. 69 in this video and still has energy for a footy side.

No, that is how it was recorded on the lp album.
@hapax875 жыл бұрын
@@davidmittelstedt8662 I saw a video here on KZbin that spoke of some minor glitches in the recording. The author stated that he believed Paul rushed through the editing process. There were missed beats and disappearing lead guitar notes. He thinks that perhaps Paul recorded the entire song alone, but I'm not too sure about that assertion.
I love The Beatles... they helped trough rough patches and there always there i love them

This song, with the double false start, was the perfect way to open the US version of "Rubber Soul". Very Beatle-like to open an album with a false start. No one else would have ever done that. Opening the US album with this and leaving off a couple of great songs that did not fit the tone of the album otherwise, the US album was more of a folk rock album than the British version. And we eventually got the songs left off later, so it was all good. For me, this was the album when they stopped being "the lads". Their growth and leadership in taking music to yet different directions was showing. It was great.

@davidgraham82994 жыл бұрын
Error, no. This was written and recorded before he split with Jane.
@stflaw4 жыл бұрын
@@davidgraham8299 From Wiki: McCartney wrote the song about English actress Jane Asher, his girlfriend for much of the 1960s,[2] and her refusal to give up her stage career and focus on his needs.[3] The line "You don't look different, but you have changed" reflects his dissatisfaction with their relationship. The lyrics also refer to his changing emotional state: "Love has a nasty habit of disappearing overnight". They didn't have to have already broken up for my statement to be correct.
