This is the batman universe I always wanted. Dark, grounded, most of the characters not being in the best mental state Batman included. Spin off shows are perfect ways to establish a character in this way without having to take that chunk of time from the movie to do it. Would love a joker show with barry in arkham possibly leading to his escape for the 3rd movie or other characters like scarecrow or harvey and the aftermath of his acid burn leading into the 3rd movie after being established in the 2nd. Such a great universe

I think Matt Reeves is going to keep DC alive for now for sure.. if he can give us something even more special than The Batman with his 2nd, and 3rd film we got some incredible stuff with "Batman" coming, not to mention Penguin is great... but that's 2 films, and a show not connected to anything... "Saving DC films" imo all relies on James Gunn and his Superman film.. If that film fails, DC, and the connected universe going forward is in big trouble regardless how good Reeves Batman films will be, not to mention how they handle the James Gunn Batman movie. Both those films need to be big hits to carry the DCU going forward. Especially Superman. imo of course.

It’s hard for me to see him get older because my favorite movie is in bruges and I loved him in total recall. What a cool detail to think about having to change the skin makeup to match the character. It seems like a given when it's pointed out but I never considered acting-through-makeup before, as in, the makeup artists have to help create the physicality of the character as a living thing while it's living instead of a static one that's fixed.

Am I alone in hoping joker is NOT the main villain of the second movie? The actor playing joker did a good job, but they should keep him in the shadows of Arkham. We’ve had so many iterations in such a short time of this character, it doesn’t feel fresh anymore it just feels obligatory.

I'll be honest, I'm not too into the design of Keoghan's Joker. I understand it's supposed to appear as if he has chemical burns and everything, but I'm just not feeling the look. Don't get me wrong, I think Keoghan will do a great job, but I hope they tweak the look a bit for the sequel. Penguin on the other hand looks pretty good and fairly accurate to the Alex Ross design

I don't want a Penguin Season 2 . There are other characters who could have a backstory told before The Batman 3. I'm sure The Batman 2 will set up other great characters. Unless we get characters connected to Penguin who will have to fill the void by the two main crime families killed off . That's how Penguin season 2 could go . Have Oz as the rival family or trying to move away from that because of his Political aspirations .

Really enjoyed The Batman... really enjoyed the first episode of The Penguin... the one thing I didn't like at all was that "extra footage" with the alleged Joker... seriously hope that isn't part of The Batman sequel. And I like this jokers laugh and like how he made batman like on the edge only time you see this batman like seem uncomfortable like he wasn't controlling the situation idk. Nolan is a genius in movie making , His batman was commercially acceptable to the masses , but this Batman represents psychological tug of war the city brings to the Batman , Infact Bruce Wayne is not a happy guy , He is a recluse, he got no time to date women , hang around , the exact things you would expect from a guy who doesn't go anywhere , The 2nd Batman could make him the GOAT , It's all on the execution.
