No he hasn't, who said he's underrated? Paddy was their first choice for this role, and people/critics have been raving about his performance as King Viserys. Paddy actually improves on the character quite a bit, even George R. R. Martin prefers Paddy's portrayal of King Viserys over the version from his own book. He's also been nominated for like, 50+ awards throughout his acting career (and won over half of the awards he's been nominated for), so he's definitely getting the recognition and respect he deserves for his work.

I honestly don't think Viserys chose to brutally murder his wife because he was thinking of the realm. Because in all the other times he's supposed to make a difficult decision as king, he shies away. Now he just makes the most difficult decision of his life in a pinch? It's uncharacteristic. It's probably more of him being obsessed with a male heir, which is shown many times in the episode. When Aemma said she won't do this pregnancy thing again, she signed her death warrant because Viserys will not give up having a male heir.

You had me till the end. Visarys legit loved his wife. He wouldn't have killed her intentionally for a male heir. Moreover, as is said in the episode, he is under the impression his wife was gonna die no matter what. So the choice was, let them both die, or try to save the baby. That being said, bot informing Emma and letting her make the call was messed up
@blueskybelyr2 жыл бұрын
@@christoperwallace6197 Viserys didn't love his wife very much, though. I think he thought he did. But if he really loved her he would have asked her what her decision would have been; to go through with the evisceration or to let nature take its course. Viserys is a weak person, Daemon even said it. If he was strong he would have respected Aemma's choices and he wouldn't let his council interfere in his family affairs.

@@blueskybelyr being weak, making the incredibly messed up decision not to inform his wife, and loving her are not mutually exclusive. People do fd up stuff to people they love.
