The way Ali both entertains and puts everyone he interviews at ease and you can see in all their faces how much they enjoy being interviewed by him. He always brings out the most interesting - the absolute opposite to the boring, run of the mill - questions and you can really see how much the guests love being interviewed by him, how interested they are in his questions and aware of his interviews with all the big names. This is why the Ali Plumb interviews are always the very best interviews in every junket for everyone from the actors to the audience. It seems to be a treat both for the interviewee and for us. As someone who has worked as this kind of journalist but for print I know it’s absolutely no mean feat to so consistently engage those whom you interview, especially people like these guys who have been sitting in these press rooms for long, long days on end being asked various alterations of the same like max. ten questions where,because it’s their job to sell this show, they have to patiently try to keep it interesting (and once you watch a few of the new cast interviews you start getting a bit bored yourself at the same questions and answers that I stopped pretty quickly) but i clicked so fast when I saw it was Ali interviewing these four and was not disappointed! And that’s the happiest and most engaged I’ve seen any of them look since the start of this press season 🖤

ali plumb has alwaysss been my favourite interviewer for anything movie and tv related but watching this after watching jimmy fallon made it even more so JARRING. in the fallon vid, fabien joked about not getting the elvis role, stating-the-obvious kind of joke with a little bit of self-deprecation and a perfect delivery, yet jimmy didn’t add anything to it and completely missed it which was a shame. while here olivia shared the director’s note in the same self-deprecating energy and he went along with it, like, you know, an actual conversation. the perfect interviewer, truly
