A neck strap isnt just for tourists and doesn't/shouldnt get in the way when shooting video. It is actually a really useful tool for filming more stable, smooth shots. Put both hands on the camera and extend your arms so the strap is tight around your neck to add another point of contact to hold the camera more steadily.

I have a canon sx510 bridge camera which I currently use for my YT channel. I could upgrade to either this or the T5 dslr for around $300 refurbished. Which would be the better buy? With this I get 60fps video, the convenience of a fixed lens, a ton of zoom, and a flip out screen. Will the dslr have that much more quality than this?

huh??? I have a Canon SX60 HS.... how come I don't have that silver box described @ 4.37? Wifi?? I see a wifi scrolling mech on the left side of the eye lens... strange how they can call the camera by definition the same but with different mechanisms ... is this why I dont have the instruction booklet that you have in your package? Take a look at the Panasonic FZ80 (amzn.to/2nJSlrp). Zoom and focus might be slightly below the SX60HS, but it has 4K and a nice touchscreen.

It lets you adjust the aperature, ISO, and shutter speed, however it doesn't have dedicated knobs for them so it's a bit of a hassle of you need to adjust them quickly. As for a cinestyle picture profile, it does let you adjust the color settings, and includes a mode called neutral which is fairly flat. Maybe have a look at the Sony a6000 if you don't need the SX60-HS' super zoom capabilities.

+Fathi Saleh I too have same confusion!! Whereas, 530 uses DIGIC-4 processor, the 60 has DIGIC-6. Also, 60 has EVF & tilting screen... so yes, 60 has upper hand. The only thing that has not gone down well with me is that, Canon 60 is bit too costly than SX50. Yet, 60 is the best P&S one can buy.

You have the SX70HS? My tips for that camera would be to record 4K video (if your computer can edit those files) at 30fps. You can most likely leave the cameras in auto mode for most settings for ease of use. The big thing with this camera is to make sure that wherever you are filming is lit brightly enough. So if you don’t already have some video lights or a ring light I might consider investing in some especially since judging by your username you do beauty videos.

+Ola Tinola Manual focus on this camera honestly sucks cause you have to use buttons. If you want good manual focus look for a camera which has a lens ring that it will let you use to focus.

LittleWorldOfJess You can send it via wifi to your smartphone or tablet. I think the camera reduces the quality of the video slightly before sending it (so you can have smaller file sizes), but it still looks pretty good.

I can confirm. The reason is that its low light performance is pretty bad. This is because though it looks like a DSLR and has a long zoom lens, it only has a tiny little sensor about the size of your cellphone.

+The Chocoholic Battery life is fairly decent, I don't have any exact numbers, but it's on par or better compared to most other cameras. Still, I'd recommend picking up a set of extra batteries (amzn.to/1N9U9yB) cause it is always a good idea to have backups. As for audio, check out my video I did comparing it to the SX50 HS (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIKsc2Romq6hg5o). You can hear how the SX60 HS sounds slightly better in most situations with its increased bass responsiveness and more directional mics.

Do you want a lavalier mic (on that clips on your shirt), a shotgun mic (one that sits on the camera and captures audio from a subject straight ahead), or a mic for ambient sound (which would sit on the camera like the shotgun mic but would have a different pickup pattern so that it recorded sound from all around the camera)? If that's too confusing, I'm basically wondering what you want to use it for/what type of videos you are looking to make.

VideoPortogruaro Yes, DSLRs (aka reflex cameras) produce way better images than this. However, they also usually cost more, weigh more, a harder to carry around, and are slightly more complex. I have a DSLR (the Canon T4i) and I am planning on getting another one within the coming year, but sometimes it's nice just to have a smaller, more compact camera.
