I have been using Roku for eight plus years. Every time they have a new streaming box upgrade, I buy it. I've never had any issues. Apple and Google are way more invasive and problematic than Roku will ever be. I have a TCL TV and have the Roku 4K HDR 10/Dolby Vision box. I keep the Dolby Vision on both the box and TV permanently on. It looks excellent and better than I've ever experienced, especially when you playback Dolby Vision HDR, 60 fps content. And the TV was only $280. It looks better than my $1100 TV before it. I just turn off all the tracking and ad content inside the TCL settings/menu and only hook the TV up to the internet to upgrade the TV once a month.

Lighting struck the transformer that feeds the power to our cabin! Every single tv we owned was fried which was 5 total which included a Vizio that had been playing non stop 24/7 for 17 years except for when we moved! Even cell phone chargers exploded and caught on fire! I replaced the bedroom and my small personal tv with Roku TVs. The main tv the Samsung I replaced with the same model. But if lighting pays us another similar visit I would try this Roku tv. Because we’re retired on fixed incomes.

I love the TV's, although I hope the Standalone Voice Remote Pro and the ones in the new Pro TV's will feature the Actual Shortcut Buttons like in the Photos, especially since HBO Max is now Max (Not sure why they screwed this up), and I think I heard about Paramount+ being sold to a different company, which might change the name. I even hope Roku will even make Pro 8K TV's, especially for the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X, and add capabilities for Roku TV's and Roku TV Ready Soundbars to play audio simultaneously through TV Speakers and Soundbars to compete with Samsung and LG.

This Tv is a definitive step in the right direction towards better tv panels, but is the first of their premium line. Tcl and Hisense for the money are pushing Tv's that are double their price. A roku Tv is best suited in smaller sizes for the better upscaling than cheap Tv's and simplicity of the app interface.

My mother learned how to use a Roku many years ago, and she wouldn't even bother trying to figure out anything else at this point. I know Roku's UI is pretty old, but I think their audience is pretty old a this point, and they don't want anything new or different. Sounds like this would be a good TV for that audience, except that audience probably doesn't care about much other than having a good TV at a great price. Still it sounds like a good TV to look at when they're blowing them out on sale. Hopefully Roku doesn't go out of business soon - that would be my big concern with this - although you could always just get a Fire Stick or something if that happened.

I wanted to give the Roku TV’s a try so I bought the Pro Series QLED a month ago and ended up returning it immediately two weeks later. The picture quality was a hit and miss since I had to play around with the picture settings quite a few times. The sound quality was actually pretty good since I had it set up in my basement living room and sat up close while watching movies and shows but sound is always better with a soundbar and subwoofer at the end of the day. Lastly, and this was 100% my fault more than the TV itself I’ll NEVER use microfiber cloths or swiffers on a TV again especially a newer one! It’s not worth the risk. I love Roku’s streaming devices but not their TV’s. At least now I know why Roku’s TV’s are so cheap and why most people buy them in the first place. Once my student loans are all paid off by next summer I think that’s when I’ll look at saving up and buying a much better TV. OLED and Sony definitely interest me since I already own a PS5 and play games on my 2016 65 inch Samsung 4K TV in my upstairs living room.

I wonder if Roku has fixed their remote finder feature problem on the newer remotes. Its a common problem (that I've seen online) with the remotes using this feature to frequently drain their batteries, regardless of type or brand, because the remote is constantly searching for the TV or Roku stick. My parents had this issue with the 4K stick and I had to downgrade them to the basic lite unit to have a reliable remote experience.

So, Hulu live works perfectly on my Roku stick, but once in a while, when I open up the Hulu app on the brand new Roku TV that I recently purchased, no live channels will work within the app. Are the two Roku devices interfering with one another somehow? How do I fix these app issues on this new Roku TV? PS - please do not recommend getting rid of Roku because I am never doing that.

Why aren't I hearing it has to be unplugged (to clear the cache), or reconnect it, or it constantly disconnects from the internet? Or is that only a problem with low end Roku TVs that people on low income are forced to buy, or buy a TV every two years because it has gone kaput; people who can barely afford that expense every few years.

@@3184Patrick color accuracy is kinda interesting topic . I went to science program in Canada 🇨🇦. Our professor spent Entire last lecture talking about TV watching cuz it is something g functional that can benefit us than just talking about nutrition n 🦠 disease , n work out 🏋🏻♀️. U know how even medication on the shelf has “2 year expiration “ . That’s the same thing with TV color , it’s just a thing “set up to have something “

🇺🇸 vs 🇨🇳 Strange. I think there’s something to be said for a large demographic about purchasing products from an American corporation as opposed to China A or China B. You have explicitly done this in the past when talking about Vizio products. That is not me necessarily; you decided to introduce topics relating to data breaches and 2fa (rather silly of you to start doing this now imo). I am glad you have no reservations about welcoming the CCP into your actual living room. I’d rather China just visit corporate in San Jose than move into my place in Portland.

I would not trust roku especially with there force arbitration built into the terms and conditions since roku can intentionally brick there devices if you don't yes with there accept the terms and conditions. This is the from the roku community website. Roku disables players and TVs with attempt to coerce arbitration agreement. Force arbitration is the loop hope after a purchase is already made and it sucks since there is no law against products and services being sold with planned obsolescence on purpose without the average consumer knowing what they are paying for. People complain about it and they say that they don't like it but it gets swept under the rug and becomes normalized because everyone is doing it even though they are people that says vote with your wallet. The large majority of consumers either don't care or don't want to deal with it anymore and will just forfeit there rights in exchange for things that are convenient. The people that care about what they paying for and they want things to last for as long as possible and get repaired have become niched. The modern era has gotten worse and is about disposable products and services and gets treated like throwing wasted food being thrown into the garbage in the similar matter.

The tv plays ads instead of going to Home Screen. Streaming apps lag, and you have to clear the cache frequently to stop apps from freezing up. Spend ten mins finding a movie you wanna watch, play it, and the app shuts down and tv resets to Home Screen. Horrid tv!!!!!!
