Why didn’t they fix hole in tubing, or fill reserve pit in. Also no lease signs. Actually you need to make sure production records are verified by oil purchaser. And make sure they do an mit on disposal well before you purchase.

@Daughter of Zion There are a lot of factors that go into the valuation of the well but to simplify it - it mostly depends on how much oiloil/gas is producing per day. It could range from $100k to $15mm+ for onshore wells. Offshore wells cost over $100mm+ to drill & complete.
@DigitalWildcatters

Sean Pruitt Thanks, Sean. There’s a lot of overhead involved which cuts into the margins, but we had projected a 2.5 year payout at $55/oil. Not shabby, just requires a lot of dirt work.

Yea we did. One of them is shut-in right now. We went in and changed out a bad insert pump and got it running again, but it was producing a lot of water so I'm going to wait a bit before pumping it down. These wells are TD 3,000 ft -4,000 ft MD. Producing out of the Wilcox. What about your wells?
@trey8543
@trey8543 4 жыл бұрын
Digital Wildcatters Don’t wait to pump off the Wilcox. I’ve seen it make 100bbl water a day for 6 weeks before getting to oil. The longer you wait the longer it takes to pump down and in the meantime you’re not making oil to pay for your pulling job. Good news is once you get to oil the Wilcox will generally make up what the water had pushed out. How’d it end up going?

@@Gaylord69420 not necessarily, I have bought wells that were shut off that hadn't produced well in years (1970s) for dirt cheap. Of five so far, two had head pressure, one went back into production after we replaced the gearbox, one flopped and the other has a gas lift casing that were working on getting a new annular manifold for it. But, let me explain how we do it. We research texas and oklahoma closed leases. The idea we started with is to identify leases closed, not renewed, not pending, and then going out to the site to identify the infrastructure. Once we have done that, we contact the transport company and see what their records show. With this information its time to contact the family of the original lease owner. By this method if they agree we generally can renew the lease with little trouble and the family gets a share. I have not paid more than 250k to acquire a lease. It is considerably more research and you need to be good at human interaction, be friendly, be prepared to get a piece shaved off your back for all that work and then you STILL have to get the well back into production, which almost always means dealing with the damage suffered to the tank farm and manifold from sitting.
