In the United States, mineral rights can be sold or conveyed separately from property rights. As a result, owning a piece of land does not necessarily mean you also own the rights to the minerals beneath it. If you didn't know this, you're not alone. Many property owners do not understand mineral rights.
@Blakkrazor694 ай бұрын
More double-speak used by Governments to deprive Land Owners from what is Rightfully theirs. These "governments" need to be retooled to be less offensive to Common Sense and Decency.
@mindofmatter0714 ай бұрын
Yep! I know and work for a man who owns the rights to minerals on several thousands of acres in Texas and home owners are not happy when we show up and they realize that there's nothing they can do about it!😢
@gregorymalchuk2724 ай бұрын
We should pass a law that reverts mineral rights back to property owners.
@kxngdavid4 ай бұрын
@mindofmatter071 That’s not necessarily the case. There are actions that can be taken. The homeowner owns the surface rights, no minerals can be extracted without an agreement. If this were to happen to me, you would be paying me a royalty on every barrel extracted from my property in perpetuity. I would also charge substantial fees for damage compensation, easement and right-of-way access, and water rights required for fracking. Y’all would be paying a hefty price to access those minerals.

My family owns a 450 acre farm house. The ownership was split between 4 uncles and 2 aunts. It was my grandfather's land. We would go there for vacation for every holiday and ride dirt bikes, go fishing and hunting. A company found oil on the property in 2016 and the family completely split after that because everyone claimed they did more to the house so they deserve more so it turned into a big issue they've all been going to court for. Even though the property tax and maintenance has been evenly split between everyone since day one. Once everyone can come to an agreement everyone should be getting a whole lot of money from it. The property alone is worth a few million
