For viewers on a budget (not that the Whammy is so expensive anymore), note that the old Digitech multi-effect pedals such as the RP50/80/100 etc. offer a subset of classic whammy settings and these can be picked up dirt cheap if you shop around.

great tip! those Digitech multieffects are cool... I had a bass one and I think it's still back home. I should try and see if I can use it

I used to play trumpet for a band and did run my signal through a whammy pedal for a few shows, it was awesome!

Found this video after i got intrigued by seeing Sid Wilson (DJ in Slipknot) have one in his rig. Great video !

thanks so much! Dang I gotta check out how Sid is using it

@@MadeOnTape I've yet to find when and how he is using it. I've just noticed he had it at his feet during Slipknot 1999-2000 era shows.

I once looked up how these pitch shifters work, it's pretty neat, and also obviously more complicated than your average analog effect

A pedal that intermittently speeds up and slows down the pitch while at the same time fragmenting the signal and playing it back in reverse would be something.....

The harmony presets have been there since the first version of the Whammy. What has changed is that they introduced latency and bad tracking.

ah dang : don’t know where i got that idea but i clearly never used an OG Whammy

@@MadeOnTape They are getting pretty rare these days. Used to play in a band with a guy obsessed with Tom Morello and he refused to play anything but the OG version 😎

Love the sounds you got with the glass marimba, I've never seen one of those before. I think you could do some really cool pedal steel type stuff with that combo, might work better if you could isolate a handful of notes to the pedal but I'm not sure how you would go about that.
