The Portuguese national archive, named Torre do Tombo, has already digitized all processes regarding the Inquisition in Portugal, Brazil, African and Indian colonies. There are over 40.000 processes anyone can have free access online. Unfortunately this comments area has a filter and I can't copy the link here.

The Jewish population of Iberia (Spain+Portugal) was anywhere between 100,000 to 500,000 during the 1300s and 1400s. Just imagine how many Jews there would be there today. It’s like an entire nation was slowly wiped out

Hasn't that been THE story of the Jews throughout history? Somewhat still here today albeit in a much softer way. But there are still forces such as some of the middle east muslim countires trying to wipe all jews from the world.

In the 18th century 3\4 of Brazil's non-slave population was of conversos. Jews started arriving in Brazil in the first Discovery ship, in 1500.

There is even a tutorial written by priests teaching how to torture people, telling what torture instrument to each "sin" to be used, in order to inflict the most terrible suffering to the "sinners". The worse type of torture was always done to Jews.

I do not know what she means 99% of portuguese population are catholic recognized by the pope. What does she mean I am a jew because 500 years ago I found a female ancestry jewish? 20 % of portuguese estimated to be descendents of sephardic jews very few know it... We are not jewish 99% of us are baptized and recognized as chistians by the pope.

In Judaism, you are a Jew (by definition) either via the Matrilineal side of your family tree or via conversion to Judaism. She found that she has a documented and complete Matrilineal family line up to a Jewish woman that lived during the Inquisition. E.g. if my mom is Jewish then I was born a Jew. Or if her mom. Or if that mother's mom. And so on and forth mother's mom.
