??? It was in his eyes. He done this with purpose 'cause this is how the media basketball works. He gave me goodwill smile with that. We all have the same ancestor and that is dust. This is the source and this where we all went back and born again together in one and many lifes. "We'am humanity!"

I tried to watch his games whenever it was televised with the Nuggets in the 90's with Robert Pack, Laphonso Ellis, Mahmoud Abdul Rauf, was such an exciting team to watch play, in a way am glad the Nuggets won last season, a redemption for Dikembe and that 90's team too. Thank you Dikembe for those memories you will not be forgotten. RIP

Dear Dikembe, thank you for having been an integral part of my adolescence! I remember that I had a teacher was from Denver and he was a phenomenal teacher, he was the one who made me want to be a teacher and a translator, and we would always talk about the Denver Nuggets! I also remember that you were the main reason why you guys are eliminated Seattle SuperSonics becoming the first number eight to knock out the number one seed! Total Cinderella story I remember you lying with your back on the parquet holding the ball up high while you were ecstatic! I remember your finger wagging that for whatever reason, they decided to remove it and your finger wagging was a one of the reasons why basketball was so much fun to watch in the 90s! So dear Dikembe, thank you 🙏 for being a part of my adolescence and RIP! And dear Sean, may your mother RIP too!

Apparently, he was a good dude. There are clips of him during his playing days floating around and I don't ever remember seeing him in a bad mood. I don't think I've ever seeing him doing other than joking and goofing off, enjoying himself. I know he was a real humanitarian. He could have retired comfortably in the U.S. and had everything anyone could ever want. He chose to use his time to help people. Prayers for your mom, Mt. My absolute favorite basketball player of all time, he was a joy to watch on the court sure but I loved his heroic nature off the court even more. I ran into Dikembe at a local mall back in late 2001 around Christmas time at a local mall near Philadelphia when he was playing for the Sixers. He was there shopping for his family for Christmas and we just happened to be in the same store at the same time. I didn't even know it was Him (his back was turned to me) until somone asked him for his autograph (years before selfies) and I heard THAT VOICE!!! 😀... I Immediately knew who it was and turned around and just said hello. Great dude, RIP big man ☝️🏀

Great job as always; you do a terrific job! That said, this is terrible news. As a Seattle native, I was a Sonics fan and shelled out whatever money it took to watch the Nuggets play the Sonics in the 1993-94 playoffs. I was disappointed by the result, to say the least. But as time passed, I became a big fan of that Denver team. I loved Mutombo's finger wag and persistent smile. Mutombo blocked 31 shots in their 5-game series with Seattle; as a team, Seattle blocked just 26. Kemp, Perkins, Askew, and Cage ALL shot well under 40% for the series. RIP big fella!

Well what, have a good trip there Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques Wamutombo.. For some reason, since I was a kid, when we used to play basketball and watch the highlights from the CDs I got, I liked the impressive blocks the most. Maybe because they are so rare, maybe because of the power and surprise factor, such demoralization. And if you have to look even earlier, in the 4th grade, the stickers I bought were placed in an album, I cut them out and compared them, I almost did fantasy draft simulations. Maybe because of his dominance in defense, maybe because of that good uncle's smile, maybe because of his exotic name, this player stuck with me so much. Well, one of the TOP 3 favorite players left too soon. And he gave that much to basketball and tens of millions to charity projects. The legend will live on forever.

I Remember all the greats. I love rewatching the classic games. Mutombo was truly one of the best defenders... tall, long, strong and able to move his feet.. he just had a feel for where he needed to be to contest the shot. What made him exceptional was the fact that all the best dunkers were coming for him and he was willing and able to take them on. Mount Mutombo was on every great dunkers bucket list... but, only the best were up to the challenge... those who tried and failed got the classic Mutombo finger wag. Classic! I appreciate the higher level of athleticism (physical development of the general player) and professionalism (higher level of coaching, training and nutrition) in the current age of basketball... but, The 90s were so much better! The personalities were larger, the rivalries were more pronounced and longer lasting and it was more difficult to access (which made you really appreciate what you could get your hands on).
