Thank you for coming back to Dimash!! If you are looking for a challenge run, then I suggest you check Dimash's "Sinful Passion". It's one of his most amazing performances and it's not just about a hard run, but there are actually a lot of different elements that he's putting on the table. It's really a vocalist's wet dream. "Hello" was a nice cover, but I don't think it had anything special to show apart from that crazy last part. "Sinful Passion" will amaze you from start to finish!! Btw, I think this is just a harmonic minor. Harmonic minors do indeed sound "arabic" and middle eastern music indeed has some different scales (like hijaz, usak etc), but I think this is just a harmonic minor. In Sinful Passion though, the run I'm mentioning is on a pentatonic scale and it's impossible for me to reproduce at the speed Dimash does it. Thanks again!!

Not arabic technique. arabs was learned this kind of styles from old Turkic tribes and Seljuks, Ottomans... This technique named "makam" or "mugam". It is used in singing, healing the illness, praying.

With a near 7 octave range (highest note in concert D8) the ability to sing in any musical style. Unbelievable vocal flexibility and breath control. He is simply in a class of his own, there is nobody else even close. I believe he'll go down in history as the greatest Ever! I think you should react to his "Arnau The Kinetic Voice" concert in front of 45,000 people it's on his own untube channel. If you do do 2 songs at a time, you'll be able to absorb the electric atmosphere. 😊🏴👍

Talking of ethnic scales and runs, while Dimash's cover of Hello is impressive, in Sinful Passion he set new standards in singing. It was a turning point in his carreer for more than one reason, and everything he has done since then is based on the Sochi performance of Sinful Passion. Please look out for the "no glitch" video on KZbin since the one on Dimash's channel has a disturbing audio glitch right at the climax.

He sings in 12 languages, is fluent in Kazach, Russian, is pretty good in English now and is still studying it along with Mandarin, which after living in Beijing for 3 years he knows some, but says it's a very, very hard language to learn, plus his staff speak to him in English so he doesn't get a lot of practice with Mandarin like he does with English, although not with native speakers.

Re the difficulty of English, I can relate, not as a singer but as a former ESL teacher! Re the amazing run he did here, I've seen lots of comments about the origin of it. Same for Sinful Passion. Dimash, even from his younger years, has experimented with singing styles from almost everywhere. He is an eternal student of music, at the university level and street level, just like yourself! Pleeease react to OGNI PIETRA. One of his masterpieces. :)) I personally prefer the fancams from his Arnau concert, because you can see his facial expressions, and to me the audio sounds pretty good. Not sure if you'll read this as it's been 4 days since this reaction, but here goes. He can sing 6 octaves. And there is no strain for him. He's been training since the age of 5. God gave him a beautiful instrument and with a good work ethic he's developed it into a voice that's out of this world. The composer Igor Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs especially for him. It must be amazing to compose for a voice with such a wide range. If you listen to 'Ogni Pietra" with your eyes closed you would swear it's a duet between a man and a woman. So beautiful!

Let us immediately clarify the fundamental points and tell you a real expert : Unrepeatable points of excellence : The "Diminuendo" of " E lucevan le stelle" in the "Tosca" performed by Franco Corelli, " Teatro Regio di Parma", January 21, 1967. Summertime sung by Janis Joplin, Stockholm 1969. Let's move now to Dimash Kudaibergen : In the technical-extension combination he is definitely the most gifted singer of all time. Consulting is free. Surprised you thought this sounded regular to you. In just the first 2 verses and choruses (before he went crazy), he displayed like 5 or more completely different styles of vocals, a fairly large range (nothing too crazy), many different tones/timbres that most singers wouldn't display in entire multiple songs, great breath control, ability to crescendo & decrescendo while belting perfect notes while always having full control of adding/removing vibrato no matter the tone or octave/pitch, etc. Maybe it is "regular" but I don't see almost any singers showing so many different capabilities like that therefore I personally don't see how it's regular. Then he brought it to alien level, lol. BTW, totally not trying to give you a hard time, just throwing some of my thoughts and reactions here in the comments :) . Love your vids!!!!!!

Dileesa Archer Context, how does it work? You started off the video saying that you’d been told the song was “mind blowing” and at the point you made the “regular” comment that clearly hadn’t happened. So, it seemed clear to me that you meant up until that point the song had been regular by Dimash’s standards. I don’t know what these folk are tripping about. BTW, if you want a real Dimash “Run Challenge” I would suggest either “Sinful Passion” or “Know” if you haven’t already seen them. Thanks for the insightful reaction.

Wrong thought that Dimash added his notes to this song to please the audience. He performed this song at a competition in China. And the notes from the Arabic motifs (the Middle East) were taken - for the Chinese this is not native. Dimash sang this to show his vocal abilities and add new colors to this hit. The public liked it.

@@Soola7 This is not arab or middle-eastern style. This kind of songs named "à la Turc" for hundred years in the European countries. Not "à la arab". Anyone never heard it. We are from Asia and proud of to be Asian. I am overwhelmed of prejudiced comments of others. Therefore I always feel like I am forced to explain his cultural background. I think other Turkic people in these comments feel the same, because it’s a very common thing for us. This is mainly caused by politics and media I assume. All Muslims are not arabs and Turkic Nations are not living like wahhabis. . As Turkic tribes heading westward from the 9th century A.D. on, starting with the Karahanlis, began accepting Islam, changes began to appear in their lifestyle and culture. (Early tribes was accepted Christianity.) Though the music continued in the Asian style, the influence of religion on the words continues to this day. However, the words reflect tolerance and the love of God rather than a hard, strict religious view. For "Know" and "Hello" (and maybe next songs...): These "mellismas" and "riffs" cames from old Turkic tribes and Seljuks, Ottomans... This technique named "makam" or "mugam" and very hard. (İndia countries were under the dominition of Turkic Babur Empire more than 300 years. Arabic countries were under the dominition of Ottoman Empire more than 400 years. They were learned -little bit- this kind of styles from Turks. arabs are just imitators.) Sufi music a small part of makams. Also Tuvan throat singing "khoomei" is different antic Turkic style. Mr. Kudaibergen used "khoomei" singing technique in "Sinfull passion". You can hear it from the all Turan group. Tuvan throat singing (Khoomei,xöömei in Tuvan) is one particular variant of overtone singing practiced by people in Turkic Tribes (one of them Tuva), Mongolia, Inner Mongolia and Siberia. Dimash's father explaned it. Consequently, the source of "riffs and runs" is from his own culture. Makam: A musical braid in Turkish Music in which a variety of sounds come together and complete. Makam is the most important concept in Ottoman-Turkish music as in all modal musical traditions; in other words, the usul, rhythm is of secondary importance since a melody can fulfil the requirements of a makam without being subject to restrictions of rhythm. As a matter of fact, musical forms or performance with no fixed rhythm constitute a significant aspect Turkish music. Though its roots are in Central Asia, a unique and advanced level of makam music is apparent in Turkic music, which spread throughout the Mediterranean basin. It is used in singing, healing the illness and praying. For example : Azan (the Muslim call to ritual prayer, typically made by a muezzin from the minaret of a mosque) is recited with "15 different makams" just in Turkic countries. Dimash is a citizen of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is a Turkic country. Normally he knows the "mellismas". And he got his Master degree in music composition. As far as I know, Dimash has studied "makams" with his vocal teacher Marat Aitimov for years. Makams are one of them the Dimash's secret weapons. Anglo-Saxon language is not my mother tongue so I have mistakes. I am a amateur soprano coloratura and a linguist but I prefer studying Sumerian than Anglo now. References: *Signell, L. Karl 1977. You should have reacted to sinful passion (sochi porformance) as a second choice after reacting to SOS, you will be for sure blowen away, a performance with technical diversity and several runs. You can also hear him talks to the audiance at the end of the performance so you know how he sounds like when he talks. Best regards

1. Is it right to express a good song "hello" strangely? I can't understand. 2. Steel heart vocals are basically high and thin, so female yelling suits high notes. Dimash basically has a low and thick sound. So he try to yell at a woman who is overly uncontrolled. This part is so funny, isn't it???
