How are people like that in the ufc how are they considered ufc level when they cant even slip or dodge
@floatinggoose91972 жыл бұрын
@@mma4140 Well I'm not gonna sit here and call you a casual like everyone else will, I'm just gonna explain. Cody actually has really good speed and head movement. But he never uses it in a firefight. When he fought Dominick Cruz, 1 of the best head movement and foot work guys in the sport, Cody outclassed him for 4 rounds, dropping him more than once, and basically looking Like one of the most fluid bantamweights ever. After that fight he goes into this TJ duo trying to take the guys head off. All emotion and fire, no composure, and years of training history that TJ could read. There's something in the sport we call Getting exposed. Where a high level fighter, possibly on a dominant win streak, has a hole in his game exposed in one loss, and cannot shore up that hole in future fights. Tony Ferguson, Conor McGregor, Mike Perry maybe, Possibly Joanna. There are way better examples that my dumbass can't come up with RN. But yea, Cody is exposed as of late. He had one good KO win, but was actually almost caught and slept in that fight as well. Than Rob Font boxes his face up. It's not that Cody was never elite or high level. It's that he makes the same mistakes over and again. He CAN slip punches very well, and is very fast. But Team Alpha male is notorious for fighters hitting an early ceiling. Plateauing I think is a word. I doubt anyone at that gym is confronting Cody about his boxing fundamentals, because hes one of the best guys there.

So true + he took unneccesary damage has probably cte brain dmg and now he cant take shots he before could take its something realy important in this sport that you try to avoid taking alot of hits and getting knocked out because there is a Dmg Meter and when that Meter is in the Red Corner it doesnt go back down it will allways stay there in the Red Corner and explode if you take a bad Hit as sad as it is..

It was kind of sad in a sense, the way TJ just ended up being Cody's kryptonite. He really hasn't been quite the same. Don't doubt he can rebound, but it's been a tailspin. 1 win in his last 5.

I love watching this all back in hindsight. Cody and Faber's biggest beef with Dillashaw was that he "ditched" them and their gym to go train with Ludwig in Colorado but also wanted to keep Alpha Male his home, since he and his wife lived there. Dillashaw always said he went where he could learn more and make the most improvement, while they stayed behind, stagnating and not really growing. Dillashaw beats Cody twice by KO, and Cody continues to decline. Fast forward to UFC 250, Cody goes off to train with a different camp and team to prepare for the Assuncao fight - goes to Mark Henry's camp in NJ. And whaddya know, he actually wins!! Does exactly what Dillashaw did, but no drama. Fucking hilarious.

8:50 Cody looking like he’s about to go to his other job as an estate agent
It seems that Cody’s skills just go out the window in almost all his fights now. The last fight he was decent at would be against Cruz. Cody’s good as shit, he just needs to work on being more patient and calm in the octagon or he will keep loosing. He’s still young, so he has time to fix his mistakes.
@madgavin75682 жыл бұрын
That window for growth doesn't last forever though, by the time he's 32-33 it'll be too late and thats not far away either considering he turned 30 just last month. If Cody wants to turn his career around, its either now or never.
