That was exactly the problem I was having. Made the tip look like the sharpened pencil and rounded the tip. Just loaded over 1000 rounds. No more primer problems. Thanks for the 411!

Wow. I'm having this exact problem. I was about to tear the press down to see if there was something under the deck causing the issue but decided to try KZbin instead, where I found your video. I'm going down to the reloading bench just as quick as I get done typing this comment to give it a try. Talk about timely. Thanks!

Good tip. I put a ~45 degree point on mine a couple years ago and that cured my reloading woes.

I called Dillon about this because I'm having the same problem. This is extra frustrating because, like you, I was using the RCBS die and experiencing the problem. I researched and found that the Dillon die has a feature the "snaps" the decapping pin which supposed to flick the primer off should it get stuck. Unfortunately, I'm still having the problem using the Dillon die as well! They instructed me to file the pin perfectly flat which I've done with no help. I've also tried other shapes but nothing gives me 100% reliability. 9mm is the only caliber I have this problem on. I reload .45 ACP, .40 S&W, .38 special and .357 magnum with absolutely no problems. I sure wish I could solve this very frustrating problem.
