I was subbed before but was somehow removed. Saw this video....saw i wasn't subbed. Fixed that lol. There's a reason slipknot is timeless. Shvt like this....EVERYONE feels at some point in life. This whole album has always been like a therapy to me. Every song just feels cathartic. Self Titled is like when you're having a mental breakdown from the threat of uncertainties in your life, something not dealt with yet etc, and Iowa fits more like when some disaster has already happened and there's nothing else to do; you're in a melancholic disgust kind of state. This song is my least favorite off this album, but I still like it. This is one of the albums where I like them all. Whatever happened to you, Lauren, here are my wishes that the blessings from early chaotic Slipknot helps you get through the bitterness of it. And if not with the help of music at all, in any other way needed. Stay safe, and get well soon o/

This song is so personal to me. I didn't speak much English in 99 so didn't really understand this song but always felt so close to it for some reason. Slipknot was a huge factor for me to keep going in my trying times and this song in particular did a lot of heavy lifting. I didn't feel so alone when I listened to this track. Sometimes cosmos just aligns correctly, because not only was it a freaky coincidence for your time in life, you published this video on my birthday :D

Ah yes, the reason life does this: CONTENT! No but I'm sorry to hear it's one of those weeks. I get it. I don't have any answers for you cause I'm still trying to figure that out myself. Probablly something something "character development". But I'm kinda sick of character development, I've had enough development. Yeah I kinda forgot that Diluted is a bit different compared to the rest of the album, that kinda of lower register rythmic bit he does for the verses lasts way longer than I remember before the burst. It's a pretty dark song just because of the character of the way it sounds. lot of eerie vocals and sounds going on. I have no idea what's with that reverby whistling bit in the bridge, but it always gives me immuature school boy vibes, which makes sense cause of Corey went through as a kid. Kinda like the impending past following him through the halls. It's some deep, deep trauma.

Life is just a series of events that we react to. Its just chaos. There is no fate or preordained path. Just actions and reactions. Cause and effect... or is it affect in this instance? Either way the terms that describes life the best are "Shit happens" and "It is what it is". The human mind just assigns patterns and fills in blanks to make things make sense but there is no guiding hand. After all we're all just a bunch of parasites living on a mossy rock revolving around a huge ball of gas while hurtling through space. No different than the lowest form of life. Mate feed kill repeat on and on and on until we muddy up this rock and drown in our own isht. From the time our ancestors developed in tidal pools and crawled from the ocean onto land to the time humanity officially conquered the world we all just want the same thing: air food sex water company (not necessarily in that order). We're all just mutations from a lesser being into something that much more complex. The evolution of the strongest and fastest and smartest. The top of the isht pile. We've conquered nature in all but it's most devastating events. No new frontiers other than beyond and below. An organism with a symbiotic relationship ship to a Mushroom? Maybe. If you're still reading this I just waisted your time! But I stand by what I said.

We humans are complex beings, we have the ability to learn from our mistakes and try to create better outcomes through choice and action. I am a maggot for sure.... I cannot say there is no God though, I have personally been through and seen too much spiritual to deny the existence of these higher beings... Probably my least favourite on the album, even though it's a good track. I just feel the first minute drags on for a bit. I anxiously await Only One, but it'll likely lose to Get This and Me Inside. I hope you will someday get to their demo songs like "Snap", which was on the 10th anniversary release. Snap is really energetic.
