Let’s not forget that he learned the song phonetically in one week and didn’t speak English other than a few common phrases. I like the fact that he has an accent. Once his pronounciation improves, he’s going to rule the vocal world. Thank you for your reaction!

Many others besides me, agree that Dimash sings on Dinglish here 😊 and that it sounds cute when he does. In the same show, in just one week, he learned to pronounce Mandarin so perfectly, that he sounded like a native when he went on stage afterwards and sang the song. Think it was "Late Autumn"

Maybe for this performance, but unfortunately came in second for the entire competition. Still trying to figure that one out. Unless it was because they weren't going to let a non Chinese singer win it all.

He did not come in 1st place on the Singer, he came in 2nd but should have won. It was a competition of Chinese singers and Dimash was the dark horse who was invited to the competition. The woman that won should not have but she was Chinese.

The Singer competition required contestants to sing covers of world hits but he did sing one original song "Unforgettable Day" which he composed himself as a teenager. Of course, because he became a huge hit overnight after singing SOS, that song became his forever more and also Autumn Strong is now one of his signature songs (he received the Hong Kong Golden Melody award (Chinese Grammy) for Autumn Strong as best foreign singer in 2017). Lara and Igor wrote a beautiful song for Dimash's voice called "Your Love". The premier was at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow in 2020. It's on Dimash's channel and is beautiful. He also has sung it live two more times, at the New Wave 2021 (song he sang before "Stranger") and at the Song of the Year 2020. Igor also wrote another song for Dimash in 2020 called "I Miss You" (dedicated to Dimash Dears). There is an official MV and a live performance on his channel plus he also sang it live at New Wave 2021 a few days before Stranger. Be aware that most of Dimash's hit original singles (other than the ones Igor wrote and a few written by Kazakh songwriters and himself) and his one album "iD" were released in China so you won't have those available to you unless you search for Chinese performances. A few Chinese hits are on his channel but not all. There are also movie themes, video game themes, tv series theme songs, etc. in China. (such as the recent one for Jackie Chan's movie Vanguard called "Happy"). Don't know if anyone mentioned it but Dimash is currently in China filming "Shine! Super Brothers" which will begin airing Nov. 6, then Nov. 13 and each week for three months. I believe you can catch the show on Shanghai tv (SMG) but it likely won't have the subtitles until after it airs.

Now figure skaters from around the world skate to many of Dimash's songs. It's just so lovely to see. In fact his best friend the Kazakh Olympic Bronze medalist Denis Ten skated to Dimash singing SOS before he was murdered. That's why the song is so important to Dimash and he has honoured Denis at many of his concerts with it 😥 ❤

@@FluffysMum Yes, I knew about that, I saw Denis preparing to skate to it. It's so sad, what a loss. One important thing skaters have to know when choosing music, though, is if the music is very big (amazing, epic), you'd better make sure your performance can live up to it. Therefore it's a challenge, I should think, to skate at the level of Dimash's singing! A tall order 😊.

Yes, Dimash ALWAYS changes up cover songs. He never tries to do an exact copy of someone else's interpretation. He's much too creative to settle for that. Even sometimes folk-type songs from his own country. His father said in an interview that years ago when he was a teenager and entering competitions he wanted to present "Daididau" (PLEASE react to it at his Bastau concert from 2017) and his father thought it was just not very interesting for a competition. But he rearranged it and it ended up being one of his signature songs that he sings at every concert and that Dears from all around the world sing with him, which was one of his dreams (having people outside of Kazakhstan singing Kazakh songs). He's so emotionally moved near the end of it in Bastau that he had to pause briefly to collect himself. Be sure to watch to the very, very end, which is actually good advice for any of his performances because sometimes something interesting is said or done. And it's always fun to see all the flowers he's given. 😄

Thank you for your information about how he protects his voice, even when other vocalists have damaged theirs. Dimash must have had some very knowledgeable voice teachers to teach him these methods. I love Lara Fabian, too. Her songs are from the gut. I discovered her because of Dimash. Those two, Diana Ankudinova, and EXO make up 95% of my listening.

Love your reactions. This version of Adagio to me was much more emotional than the version that Lara Fabian sang which was more pop. By the way, the contestants of the Singer Show are very well known and popular singers in China. They are no amateurs and in fact Dimash came in as a wildcard that nobody knew.

The foundation of technique that is first taught is so important. If you listen to the students of Marat Aitimov you will hear that they have the same training and technique. He often sends me shirt videos from his classroom and it is incredible to hear how the grow every year. He is a remarkable teacher. How many octaves can Dimash sing?Vocal range and style His sung range expands 6 octaves and 2 semitones, from C2 to C6 to F♯6 and, finally, D8. When he was only five years old, Dimash began taking vocal and piano lessons at the children's section of the Akhmet Zhubanov Music College. He continued his training throughout his school years and eventually attended the music institute of K. Zhubanov University. He graduated in 2014 with a classical music degree centred on vocal ability. He continued his musical education by studying contemporary music Kazakh National University of Arts in Astana. He successfully received a Master's degree in Composition and was even recommended for the PhD program. Throughout his time at university. He won the National Zhas Kanat Contest with a perfect score of 180 out of 180, which was unprecedented in the competition's history. In December 2014, he was awarded a laureate of the State Youth Prize Daryn. He released his first album in China the same year, and it went platinum in thirty-seven seconds! Less is known about Dimash's personal life. He is definitely not married, and he has no children. He has had one previous relationship with Nursaule Ambakirova. However, he is likely still working hard on his career, and there will be plenty of time for a family in the future.

Great reaction! I really like how you notice and comment on how careful Dimash is of his voice, something not many other reactors does. I would imagine Dimash is a true professional and knows how important it is to be respectful of ones instrument. He puts so much emotion in it and sings it so beautifully that it hits my heart and soul with such a power that I burst into tears nearly everytime I hear it

Dimash begins sitting by playing the piano, soft voice and then stands up and continues.
