This is how it is with Dimash. In one interview, he said that as a teenager he almost reached the red belt in taekwondo, and there are already stories that he has a black belt. He's just getting a doctorate and we don't know when he will do it, and they write that he has a doctorate. Someone said that the Russian TV station only allows playbecks, so now all Dimash's songs are definitely playbecks. There are certainly circumstances when he has to sing with Playbeck because there are no conditions to sing live, recording music videos etc. He sang this song in Sochi. There is an international competition for young singers who sing live. And here the first myth about playbecks on Russian television is no longer available. Because young people sing live and are immediately judged by the judges. One of the judges was Dimash. As a guest he sang three solo songs, each of which was premiered. That is why it was not even proper to sing from Playbeck, the more so that there was an appropriate technical base and Igor Krutoy was in charge of everything, who would not allow any trouble. He prepared the premiere songs very carefully because he wrote the music for two himself. As for the Ave Maria, some say that if she keeps her mouth open, she is pretending. Unfortunately, this is not true again because this is the vocal technique. Closing your mouth distorts the sounds. I suggest you listen to what specialists say about this technique. Dimash sure sings with playbeck sometimes because he has to. Just watch the Adam's apple move up and down, sweat on his face, get out of breath after a difficult song, to know when he is singing live. Often his singing is very tiring, he puts a lot of effort into making difficult evolutions with his voice. All the muscles of the entire body are working. Therefore, when you are tired, you can tell when he was singing. Ave Maria, contrary to appearances, does not require that much effort, but requires perfect mastery of the technique. And it's less tiring.

Russian composer, Igor Krutoy wrote this song specially for Dimash at his request. As Igor put it: "Italians like to say that any composer is worth exactly as much as his latest work is worth, meaning that all previous achievements and achievements do not count... I listened very carefully to the fairly controversial and categorical statement made by representatives of this very musical country (both in the past and in the present), and began to look at my new compositions from the Italian perspective... One evening, about three months before 'New Wave', Dimash called and asked if I could write 'Ave Maria' for him, explaining his desire to sing something in such a stylistic way... It just so happens that I had the evening off, and I was happy to sit down on the piano and, remembering the Italian liability formula, worked inspiredly until I achieved the desired result... After taking a few days to have the song ‘rest’ in my ears, soul and heart, I sent it to Dimash, who literally said within half an hour that that's exactly what he wanted to hear. And, of course, the reception and applause given to Dimash by the audience at New Wave showed how happy it was to do what you love, to write for such a singer who has a genius for music, to evoke deep emotions in the public and to be in demand… In fact, Igor had already semi-retired earlier, but he came out of semi-retirement to work with Dimash. In a Russian TV interview, Igor said his mother had told him he needs to write songs for younger singers. But he replied that there aren’t any younger singers who can sing his songs. That’s why he decided to retire... but then he met Dimash. Together, the two of them have created many beautiful new songs. Igor writes specially to cater to Dimash’s exceptional range, ability and technique.

I also think it's live because it's the same night he performed Stranger.....which was also the first time. I think most people think it was lip singing because he didn't have any in ears. But that wouldn't matter to me... because he must have sung it anyway. I also think that it's love because in the last part he had a slightly red head because of the long breath .... I love Dimash ... everyone knows that he can do it because there's not a note that he can't listed. ( in other songs ) ♥

@@Dimashpolizei Let`s not forget "Daidau" at Bastau concert, which he performed perfectly and gloriously, relying on his absolute pitch and muscle memory, since both in-ears broke at the beginning of the song and he left both hanging on his shoulders. And no one can forget that performance to this day :) ❤ No in-ears here either, and people applauded for minutes forcing him to come back out to thank them, even though it wasn`t a concert, but a more formal setting : kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpDHimSJiZl-a80 And here he has no microphone at all, (and obviously no in-ear), and is doing the technique for that last note, but way back in 2017 : kzbin.info/www/bejne/iInCZYd6arpoqpo The technique is called "Messa Di Voce - To Indeed Be A ‘God’" lol 😎 👑 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/aai8goJ8Z9Gnn8k)

Nobody knows for sure unless they were part of the crew backstage. But I tend to trust Dimash when he says he prefers to sing live. But it doesn't matter because he can sing it live and sound even better than a recording. I've seen enough footage of him doing a capella and being there during concert, to know he's the real deal. So, why is it that people love spreading rumors so much? 🤔 You don't hear about any of those silly pop singers lipsynching but people always questioning Dimash? Because they know he's the best and they can't stand it.

@@SeeliaVachon lol yeah, best ones are those wrapping their insinuations in words of love for Dimash, like "I love him so much, I am glad he lip-syncs so that he preserves his voice for a long time, those who say he always sings live are being irresponsible, they`re putting too much pressure on him to be perfect !" That one gets me everytime 🤣 And the sad examples are the fans that are afraid to be considered stans if they say that he really is good and really sings, maybe better than they are capable to evaluate. Doesn`t matter that Dimash himself explained his method of resting before concerts, and resting and not speaking after concerts, to give his vocal cords a rest ; nobody cares about the breaks he takes during concerts, singing easier songs, leaving the stage twice to let other artists perform their songs, playing instruments etc. - but they say he lip-syncs songs "to rest after hitting high notes" 🤣 Doesn`t matter, he has his soprano teacher Maira Muhamed, the great Marat Aytimov his other teacher, Igor Krutoy the world-class composer and many more musical experts truly appreciating his real value, expertise and work. Other than that, I have seen many youtube coaches, youtube sound engineers, and other youtube experts caving at one point or another and start looking for flaws, squinting at a computer screen, as if that doesn`t put a dent in their expertise. It`s fine. I`ve never seen actually classically trained coaches/singers question him, he doesn`t sound "fake super-human to them" , they recognize the technique, having practised it themselves, and they`re proudly impressed with his relentless training, and range. Nice and simple. Excellence recognizes excellence.

Another wonderful reaction. This is is the final of three songs Dimash premiered in August 2021 during his performance at the annual New Wave music competition in Sochi, Russia. Dimash's rendition of "Ave Maria" is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever listened to, and only Dimash's voice could evoke such a profound emotional response in me. This rendition touches the very core of my soul. I have watched this performance numerous times already since it premiered, and no matter how many times I have already watched it, I am still moved to tears the moment I hear the first note sung by Dimash's angelic voice. Dimash premiered "Ave Maria" in August 2021 during his performance at the annual New Wave music competition in Sochi, Russia. He once again performed with Igor Krotoy on the piano. This is a vocalise interpretation of Schubert's "Ave Maria " 's opening vocals." Igor Krutoy composed this rendition for Dimash; it is not a cover. I read somewhere that the piece uses only three bars from the original composition and changes the fourth note to a higher note. Someone explained that Dimash called Igor Krutoy with an idea for a brand new interpretation of Ave Maria and asked him to compose the music. Dimash is said to love Gregorian choral music, which is where he got the inspiration. Igor composed the music, after which Dimash conceived these exquisite vocals. Someone else likened it to "a leap from "dark to light" which is the same contrast as Dimash's outfit (dark to light)!" Another “Dear” fittingly described Dimash’s performances like this: "Every time I hear this beautiful man sing, it feels like he punches a hole in my chest and holds my heart in his hands, holding it so gently, until he finishes singing. Then releases it and removes his hand from my chest, and I'm left with an empty, aching feeling which can only be filled by listening to him sing again! It's a beautifully tortured relationship with Dimash." The last note Diamsh sings is known as "Messa di Voce," the singing of a gradual crescendo and decrescendo on a long sustained note. It is considered one of the most challenging vocal exercises, and voice experts regard it as the ultimate test for any singer, a skill even the most experienced vocalists rarely ever master. There are at least 11 other compositions titled "Ave Maria" and over 40 different renditions of these versions. The version most people are likely familiar with is Schubert's 1825 composition or the 1853 Gounod composition, based on a famous Bach keyboard prelude written 137 years earlier. Here is a list of different composers/compositions: Ave Maria - F. Schubert (1797-1828) Ave Maria - C. Gounod (1818-1893) Ave Maria - J. S. Bach (1685-1750) Ave Maria - G. Verdi (1813-1901) Ave Maria - E. Elgar (1857-1934) Ave Maria - P. Mascagni (1863-1945) Ave Maria - J. Brahms (1833-1897) Ave Maria - L. Cherubini (1760-1842) Ave Maria - V. Vavilov (1925-1973). See note below* Ave Maria - S. Lindley (1948- ) Ave Maria - N. Skipper (1951- ) *This is the famous composition of Ave Maria misattributed to G. Caccini (1551-1618). It was actually composed by Russian composer Vladimir Vavilov in the early 1970s. He was forced to attribute most of his music to someone other than himself because any religious composition at that time, especially one invoking the Virgin Mary, was criminal under the communist dictatorship governing the Soviet Union.
@mille5913
@mille5913 Жыл бұрын
Actually why Vavilov attributed his song to Caccini is not because of the Soviet "dictatorship" 😂 but because it was kinda his joke. He attributed many of his other songs, without any religious meaning, to other old composers of other ages

👉Just a few notes and Dimash's voice... and people all over the world melt away. An angel does not need words to convey his message... Everyone understands! I have never heard anything more beautiful. This is a magical new classic masterpiece that people are sure to hear in 300 years. According to wiki there are 68 Ave Maria settings from 7 eras, now 69. I mean, this song is on the same high level as Schubert's Ave Maria or Vavilovs (Caccini) ... also beyond all spirituality, just wonderful music. Igor Krutoy (means in Eng. Igor Cool), *1954 in Ukrainian SSSR), singer and songwriter in Ukrainian and also music titan in Russia (billionaire). He is a world- famous composer who came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship. He composed this vocalise for Dimash's voice... so breathtaking, touching and beautiful. A few day prior to, but at the same concert as he did Ave Maria, Dimash also premiered the song "Fly Away". It is about choosing stay in your safe little world or breaking free to embrace new possibilities (sort of a red ill/blue pill concept). To me deciding whether Dimash lip syncs is like that too - it would be comfortable to just decide all this is playback and to keep trying to "trip him up", but I choose to live a world where Dimash is showing us that there are infinite possibilities and that boundaries are self-imposed. Truly inspiring!!

If I'm not mistaken, this “Ave Maria” by composer and conductor Igor Krutoy is a work in vocalize format, completely unpublished, although it seems to be a variation of the initial theme (not the introduction but the singing part) of the melody by Schubert adapted to Dimash's voice in order to explore just as three initial notes and changing the fourth note to a higher note (From B4, A4 D #4 C #4 and B4 to G #4, G4, G4, D #5): Like a leap from "dark to light" which is the same contrast as Dimash's outfit (from dark to light)! It also seems to refer to the Russian V. Vavilov's version of "Ave Maria" (wrongly credited to Caccine) and work by JS Bach - Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, with arrangements by Gounod, which Maetro Igor Krutoy has a predilection for!

Enjoying your reactions! Re the live/not live - there are some things we DO know: "The Singer" shows were all live, they look down on lipsynching and it's not allowed within the competition. Russian TV shows generally want it lipsynched, TV people say it's in order to have better control over the production (we are quite sure it's not Dimash's choosing). At his most recent concert 2 weeks back Dimash sang "Ave Maria", and his concerts are always live (even if they do have backing tracks included), so we know he actually can do this live. Having said that, some sound engineers have shown that he has used autotune in parts (and now people will kill me for saying it ;) ), for example on SOS Slavic Bazaar (the few extremely clean notes that simply cannot be produced by the human voice - they can't, no matter how much people argue, they still can't). So, with all that. Can we be sure he is (one of?) the greatest singers this planet (universe?) has? Absolutely YES. It's totally understandable to use everything that engineering can provide to either ensure the cleanest, most perfect vocal for some occasions - or to leave that stuff out and just go all in, as he does on concerts, when things are not perfect (OK, maybe 99.99999% perfect ;) ) but the vibe and THE MAN is killing it on stage. I love both. I prefer live, but I do understand that sometimes production requirements call for "assistance". I just hope his damn perfectionism for the most perfect technique never makes him rethink throwing all he has into a performance, I love that side of him most of all.

Dimash hates doing lipsync. Once in China he was ill and the organizers want him to lipsync. He refused, went to the stage to explain the situation, the host explain he was very sick. He was so sad of disappointing the dears that he tried to sing. He sang a little a capela until the dears begin to cry and beg him to stop. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWLZhntjn5qXacU His life is the stage, the concerts. He could do some albums (easy for him) and a lot of people would buy them. Instead he is always preparing a new concert... Does he lipsync? Of course. Sometimes he does performances to promote a song in tv shows that don't have structure for him to sing live mostly in China and Russia. But there are plenty of videos of him singing perfectly a capela in rehearsals, airports, at home in case you or anybody here has any doubt. There is a video of some years ago in China where you see him studying exactly how to sing that last note of this song. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iInCZYd6arpoqpo Hug from Brazil!

He does have to use playback sometimes. It's: -not his fault because a lot of venues are run by people who demand it. Or, some songs are on a commission that has conditions... -he can do things no other human can do...but singing is a sport, and straining for an E above high C is not doable in a concert setting song after song after song. He needs to rest a bit. To his credit, he is very good st it, usually. And he's the only artist I personally don't mind watching lipsync.
@LMironono
@LMironono 2 жыл бұрын
Also he doesn't LIKE to do it. And he definitely doesn't want that reputation, which is partly why for lots of his songs (90% of which are live) he will do things like waving the microphone strobe-style in front of his face, which nobody could pull off while lipsyncing. Check out Unforgettable Day, Gakku concert. Every note is almost perfect until he tries to hit a high note (while waving the microphone) but his voice just can't hit it, so he gets up and ... well you'll see.

Very well said - both comments. I was coming to say similar. Of course Dimash uses playback...sometimes. Just like EVERY artist uses it...sometimes. Some more than others. And Dimash is not part of the “more”. I’ve been to concerts where every single song is obviously playback (sometimes one or two may be live, which is also painfully obvious). Dimash’s concerts are always by vast majority live. Of course, as said above, singing is a sport and there will be the occasional playback (hardcore Dears may recognize which exactly) to preserve vocal health, but Dimash has more live performances than any other artist I’ve ever known of. As for this exact performance, even though it was in Russia (playback seems to be a stipulation, by any artist, for Russian tv), I would bet just about everything I own that it was live. Although he’s a master stage performer (exactly why you have to wonder IF a performance is playback, since it’s not obvious) , there’s a concentration/focus there that I don’t think can be acted - like he’s tapped into the very spirit of music at the soul level for those few minutes.

He doesn`t have E`s above high C in concerts song after song after song. And he takes breaks leaving the stage twice to let another singer sing a song (his backing vocalist Jordan Arakelyan doing a song of her own, his mother in Dubai, a young girl guest artist in New York), playing instruments, talking to the fans for minutes, singing songs like "Fly Away" which has barely any notes in it, "If I never breathe again" etc that don`t have any belting or wide range. And the last 20 minutes of the concerts are spent presenting the band members to the audience and having fun with the fans. And he methodically rests before and after the concerts. Just because other artists make you wait for an hour for them to show up and sing for 45 minutes, doesn`t mean that his concerts are a stretch in any way for the amount of training that he has accumulated and is still doing daily.

Hello, the fact that he might be lip syncing does not diminish his overwhelming talent. I have read somewhere that shows in Russia often require singers not to perform really live… and Dimash is under contract and has to respect those rules. Also, technology allows singers to be helped onstage and we the audience wouldn’t really notice any difference with a real act. I have listened to many videos and some songs sound exactly the same, note for note.. which makes me believe it is a recording. I am NOT a hater, I am absolutely mesmerized and obsessed by him. His talent is huuuge. I am just being realistic. Recently he posted a funny video , singing Mozart in a stairway while a friend of his was lips syncing him. There is no doubt of his capacity to sing live.

This performance was live and not an edited studio performance or sung to track. It’s him. Of course the sound is live mixed as is any performance (reverb, etc.). In Asian and especially Russian televised events it is the norm to “lip sync” (though I have never seen Dimash do this-he will sing over the track in those cases). So the opening of the Olympiad for example has Dimash and Zaria singing with a track. It was a live, mass attendance, nationally televised event. Not his choice. In some of his virtual solo performances it appears he is studio mixed with perhaps several takes done then mixing the best sections together (though all sung live). I have heard a few performances where I simply assumed he was singing with a track as the performance was note for note identical only to have one or two slight variations later in the song showing it was not the same performance. He is good enough to resign a song and match it nearly perfectly all through with note and tone. You can go through his discography and video recorded performances that are obviously live and I have yet to find a note or song that he has not been capable of doing live. This concert event with Ave Maria and Stranger, etc., IS live. He is simply frigging unbelievable.

This stage is in Moscow. The entity which holds the broadcasting rights is the Russian State Television ; they have a rule which is mandatory, and that is that songs are played-back. So, Dimash (and any other artist for that matter) is obliged to lip-sync when he sings in Russia on this (Kremlin) stage. At the same time, Dimash is using his voice to sing over the played-back song and therefore if there is an instant black out, we could still hear Dimash's voice even after the current went out. So, in a way he is semi-lip-syncing 😀 Edit: the concert is in Sochi, not in Moscow. My bad.

As far as I know, this is not true, this rule doesn't exist, lip-sync is sometimes required, but not always. And in that case, you can compare with his recent live concert in Dubai, where he sang Ave Maria too, Dimash sings live better than lip-sincing.
@lovesyoutube8591
@lovesyoutube8591 2 жыл бұрын
Not in Moscow. Sochi. And the lip-syncing rule is not the thing people keep bandying about, tv show studios that don't have proper acoustics and high tech sound mixing capabilities overlay a recorded sound track over the image in editing. Dimash still sings into the microphone they give him. Prestigious concert halls with perfect acoustics are way different than Tv show studios, they're a national pride to sing live in, and the audience expects exactly that.
