I have watched this performance numerous times already since it premiered and my eyes fill with tears the moment I hear the first note sung by Dimash's angelic voice. This is a vocalise interpretation of Ave Maria that Igor Krutoy (on piano) composed for Dimash (not a cover), using only 4 original bars from the original composition. The last note Diamsh sings is known as "Messa di Voce", the singing of a gradual crescendo and decrescendo on a long sustained note. It is considered one of the most difficult exercises for singers and voice experts regard it as a singer’s ultimate test, a skill even the most experienced rarely ever master. There are at least 10 other compositions titled "Ave Maria" and over 40 different renditions of these versions. The version most people are likely familiar with is Schubert's 1825 composition or the 1853 Gounod composition, based on a famous Bach keyboard prelude written 137 years earlier. Here is a list of different composers/compositions: Ave Maria - F. Schubert (1797-1828) Ave Maria - J. S. Bach (1685-1750) Ave Maria - E. Elgar (1857-1934) Ave Maria - G. Hello, dear Sophie! It so happened that on the day, August 26, 2021, when Dimash performed the song Ave Maria to Russia, spontaneous explosions occurred at an ammunition depot in his homeland, in the south of Kazakhstan near the city of Taraz due to the banal negligence of the authorities. On August 28, a spontaneous explosion occurred there again. The number of dead and injured civilians and military personnel is being specified. August 29 was declared a national day of mourning for the victims near Taraz in Kazakhstan. It turns out that Dimash, without knowing it, actually sang this song about his compatriots who died as a result of the explosions.

“Ave Maria” by conductor Igor Krutoy is a variation on the opening theme (not the introduction, but the singing part) of Schubert's melody adapted to Dimash's voice in order to explore only the three opening notes and changing the fourth note to a higher note: Like a leap from "dark to light" which is the same contrast as Dimash's outfit (dark to light)! Wonderful! Also reminiscent of the "Ave Maria" version of Russian V. Vavilov (Caccine)

очень смешанное чувство от данного выступления Димаша. У каждого человека есть свои "скелеты в шкафу". Своих скелетов (которые мне принесли очень много боли) я безуспешно пытался похоронить/забыть в течении почти 40 долгих лет, и тут Димаш со своим гениальным исполнением бесцеремонно вторгается в мою память, и опять мои скелеты обнажены, и опять мне больно...

Димаш- лекарь наших душ. А врачу надо сначала очистить рану, если там накопилось много гноя, и это бывает больно. Но дальше будет облегчение.
