Hi Carmen, only Dimash knows his true range, I have the video saved showing his 7.7 octave sung range G0-D8 but Dimash has admitted he can go higher but there is no point because it doesn't contribute to his goal to make beautiful music and not set world records. I am 100 percent positive he can go over 8 octaves, but range is just one aspect of what makes him so great, the control to jump all around his range, microphone perfection, stage presence, the ability to emote and bring the audience in, his acting ability, and let's not forget that he is actually a humble, kind, charitable, and respectful person, really as good as any human can be. Dimash can't be described without speaking to all these things and I am certain I left things out. He inspires me just being the beautiful soul he is, and truly her is the best vocalist in known history without any doubt. I feel we are blessed to live in the time to see him and certainly he will be referenced through out history as a legend and icon to teach future musicians. His name will live in enfamy.

Carmen I feel this was one of Dimash's best performances ! Stripped down to just his voice and backing track ! You can really feel and hear his true vocal talent with this performance ! His Chinese version called "Autumn Strong " was an absolute masterpiece too as he performed it in a Chinese talent show that brought the house down ! Dimash is the very best male vocalist I have ever witnessed ! Although he can sing with the most incredible range ever heard, it's his stage performance that really adds to the song ! He gives the song such an emotional and captivating experience ! Only really great artists can sing so so softly and convey such a powerful emotion impact to the audience ! Ikanaide is perhaps my favorite Dimash performance and they are so hard to compare or rate ! I guess it's a personal choice we all have to make ! Thank you once again Carmen for posting a fabulous Dimash video and for being a wonderful supportive soul that I'm sure all Dimash dears love ! Hope you're having a great day ! 👍🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️❤️

This song is sooo beautiful❤️. And he performed it with so much emotions. You literally could feel his pain😪. He has been invited to perform at the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. But he couldn't go to Japan because of Covid. So he had to sing it from studio. If the Japanese reactors are to be believed, Dimash sang in perfect Japanese. Some also claimed that it was better Japanese than many Japanese themselves😅. Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️ kzbin.info/www/bejne/bp6wXpWmarV1aZY

This was the second appearance of Dimash at the Tokyo Jazz Festival. The year before, he sang the Kazakh traditional Samaltau, which tells the story of a young Kazakh man who was forcefully drafted into the Russian army to fight in World War I. As he hikes reluctantly to the recruitung station in the city of Omsk to fight in a meaningless war, he is already bemoaning his homesickness and feels sorry for his elderly parents that he had to leave behind. A wonderful and touching performance in his himestudio, accompanied by two friends with Kazakh instruments and an electronic soundtrack forming the dramatic background. I would advise against watching samplers and compilations of Dimash portraying his range. I think I was fortunate to have learned of them only after watching the majority of his best performances, or else I would have been stripped of any surprise.

As others have said, Dimash performed Autumn Strong in mandarin on the I am singer comp in 2017 which is the same melody but different lyrics. When I went to his concert in Dubai, Dimash sang half the song as Autumn Strong in mandarin and half as Ikenaide in Japanese, At one of the German concerts, he asked the audience what language people would like him to sing this song in. He is so thoughtful.

I stumbled on to Dimash 5 yrs ago w/ 2018 SOS Slavak Bazar & immediately my instincts are screaming this is the best vocalist I've ever heard in my life but you resist b/c that's crazy he's just a young kid (then) but each performance he is better & better & better..... now he's almost 30 & his lower register is full world class baritone - there was never any limit to his upper range - he is technically perfect & his ability to emote on stage is unmatched..... but until you hear him live you can't fully grasp his greatness...... Dimash is the greatest vocalist the world has ever produced & I say that w/ zero hesitation

they say that Dimash sang ~ in 14 languages. It is clear that singing and speaking like a native speaker are two different things. But this is a tribute to the authors of the song. And Dimash fans, who are in all countries. After each song, I told myself this is the best. we are told you can talk about anything, but the last phrase is remembered. The story of one sky. Dimash is a composer. He nurtured this idea for 3 years.

Hi Carmen. I prefer that a reactor to Dimash watches whatever interests them most at any particular time. I've seen all of Dimash's songs hundreds of times, and all of his interviews, compilations and behind-the-scenes videos dozens of times. For me, my enjoyment of reactors is watching their own unique process of discovery. Some reactors are particularly interested in material that shows more of who Dimash is as a person, some are more interested in the technical features of his voice, like his range, while some are more interested in Dimash' performing a complete song (maybe of a certain genre, or in a certain vocal register), etc. For me, I most enjoy a reactor's genuine interest and engagement, which usually happens when they're watching whatever they most want to watch.

I agree wholeheartedly! It is too easy for a reactor to take direction from the dears and everyone ends up sounding the same. We dears have already travelled the road many times and we sometimes just want to see what path a reactor takes when left to their own devices. Dimash is a journey. There will be things that you may enjoy more and those you may enjoy less… getting to know your preferences is part of the process. If we enjoy, we follow even as we suggest other related artists. Cheers!

Dimash always says again and again in interviews that his range isn't important. It's what you convey in the song. My personal favourites are the Kazakh songs where he rarely uses that upper register at all. If you'd like to look at some very interesting pieces about Dimash take a look at The Ultimate Guide to Dimash. This is a series of 12 short compilation videos each based around a particular aspect of Dimash. Compiled of interview moments, thoughts from his friends and family, funny moments, livestream moments, concert moments. They are brilliantly put together and carefully edited to be copyright friendly for reactors. They are on the channel of Lilasi and she made them for reactors to get a good all round feel for Dimash without having to dig around on the internet. kzbin.info/aero/PLIGVyLq6etukcAI6pyk7IxA5SqKLEWxSp

The song is about Yoshiko Yamaguchi, a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan. She became famous in China. However, once the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy and she was deported back to Japan and didn't go back to China for many years, as it was forbidden at that time. Ms Yamaguchi did return to China in her later years as the Japanese Parliamentary Vice Minister of Environment. This song is saying goodbye to her Chinese name Li Xianglan. The song is a metaphor, as lyrics speak of how a person has to hide what feels inside.

Dimash has a range of 6 Octives ... if you want to see 100% of his range you should see a cover song he made called ( opera 2 ), but if you want to see 200% of his range you should see an origenal song of his called ( Unforgettable day _ Gakku 2017 ) coz in this song he went of the piano , and by the way Dimash has sanged in 13 different languages ! and if you want to see all what he can do with his voice with full capacity then you should see the most incredible and on of a kind song that had ever been made in music industry called ( The story of one sky )

This song was filmed during the Pandemic so Dimash couldn't be on an open stage. I don't speak Japanese but I've read that "Ikanaide" means "Please Stay, Don't Go" and it was written about a woman who was either Japanese, living in China or a Chinese living in Japan, during World War II. When she was discovered she was forced out, so this song is about that loss & longing by her mate. I think it also goes by another name, "Autumn Strong". You also know that Dimash is a multi instrumentalist. On"River Of Love" he plays the Dombra while the songs writer plays keyboard. I think he does some vocalizations at the end but mostly the song is just instruments. If you want one where he goes crazy on whistle tones, check out "Diva Dance". Thanks!

Dimash sang Ikanaide (live and for the first time in Japanese) on the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. Because of the pandemic, the annual Tokyo Jazz Festival took place online again. Filmmakers verify that the videos have not been edited and manipulated, so the singer sings live. In 2020 Dimash also participated in the famous annual Tokyo Online Festival with 2 songs: * S.O.S. - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZWuinelprB_hpo * Samaltau - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXbcfayBjJKajbs The original Japanese version Ikanaide/ Please Don’t Go (composed 1989) is by Koji Tamaki, *1958, Japanese songwriter. The sad true story... very touching: It is about Yoshiko Yamaguchi (*1920-2014), a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan and became famous in China. However, when the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy. She was deported to Japan and longed for China. Ms. Yamaguchi did not return to China until many years as deputy environment minister in the Japanese parliament. The song is a metaphor as the lyrics speak of how a person should hide what they are feeling. Koji Tamaki sent a wonderful message to Dimash, thanking him, and praising him for singing his song in Japanese. Vbloggers, they reacted to the original by Koji Tamaki, they are mesmerized and can't stop listening to him. He wrote many wonderful melodies - you should check it out: Koji Tamaki 2021, Ikanaide - kzbin.info/www/bejne/haHKn4BogsiWebM In 1993, Jacky Cheung (*1961, singer and actor in Hongkong) adapted the song into Chinese Mandarin, calling it Late Autumn: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqWwY3ipnK13aa8 The Chinese (Autuumn Strong) and Japanese (Ikanaide/ Please, Don’t Go) versions have completely different lyrics and meanings… and of course Dimash sings both very differently. Both are based on a same true story. The Chinese version shows the image of leaves dancing in the autumn wind as a metaphor for how fate affected Yoshiko Yamaguchi's life. ...sad but inevitable and irrevocably The Japanese version does not want to accept the loss, is full of pain, pleads, suffers ... heartbreaking. I'm totally mesmerized by how sensitively Dimash differentiates and conveys to the listener the feelings of sadness and loneliness in the Chinese version and loss and pain in the Japanese version. Even his whispers and his breath are music... it breaks my heart and the tears flow... and at the end everyone suddenly holds their breath, we hear Dimash breathing, then a deep and comforting hum. I've never heard anything like it from a singer in my entire life. Only Dimash can do that. This is true mastery. * The most famous interpretation In China (first performance at the Singer 2017) was that of Dimash Qudaibergen and it was his first time to sing in Chinese mandarin: Autuumn Strong - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZ7MY5aMns-Xg9E This song brought Dimash the 'Best Foreign Singer' award at the Golden Melody Award 2017 (equivalent to the Grammy) in Hong Kong. * Great performance (Chinese version) of Dimash from Kiev 11.03.2020, the last concert before Corona paralyzed everything: Autumn Strong - kzbin.info/www/bejne/amSaenipea6NnKc * Other version of Dimash: In Moscow on March, 2019 - Autumn Strong - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5bag2t4pMhlZ6s

Kōji Tamaki is a Japanese singer-songwriter of Ikanaide and Dimash performed a previous version in Chinese called Autumn strong kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIm0ZmuLYqqXmsk this song is based in a true story about Yoshiko Yamaguchi who was born in China, hid her japanese heritage under a chinese name, became very loved. After WWII, her heritage was exposed, she was arrested, accused of being a japanese spy, and sentenced to death. She was ultimately cleared of charges, but was advised to leave the country, as she risked being lynched. Dimash is a master of the story-telling, his voice makes you feel deep emotions and takes you there where that song happened. Beautiful!! A Japanese reactor mentioned that his softness with the hard consonants is a function of how well Dimash understands and has learned the mechanics (tongue and jaw placement) of the Japanese language. It's something very difficult for native English speakers to do. ❤️🎤🔝🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I have to finally write it down somewhere. I have listened to a lot of Dimaš's songs and I must admit that of all the great singers of today, he did not impress me at all. Yes, he has a nice voice, a huge range, but he doesn't have what I like, which is a surprise. Almost every song starts and ends the same way. A war to show everything he has? Is that absolutely necessary in EVERY song? I don't think so, but it doesn't surprise me. At the same time, this is the reason why I don't go back to listen again, as I usually do on other occasions with other singers. There isn't that bit of surprise with something new that would make me want to hear a song twice. Sorry folks, but that's how I feel. By the way, a wonderful comment for which I am happy to give a like.

Then you should try some of his other languages : Mandarin - Autumn Strong 2017 at the I Am Singer competition. Same melody as this song but different story. Italian - Ogni Pietra a.k.a. This is a Japanese version of a Chinese song "Autumn Strong" which Dimash has also performed. The theme of saying goodbye/loss is similar, but aside but the lyrical composition is completely restructured. Autumn Strong covers a wide array of images and emotions. Listening to THESE lyrics it seems VERY repetitious We hear the word IKANAIDE over a dozen times... and yet Dimash makes it fresh in every line. This is a flawless performance but there seem to be minor editing signs that it is more than one take. My favorite, nonetheless

He did not write this song, the original music composition was written by Koji Tamaki in 1989. Original lyrics were by Goro Matsui. There is also a Chinese version of this song called Autumn Strong or Late Autumn depending on how they translated it, and those lyrics were written by Jacky Cheung in 1993. Dimash sings both versions. He sang the Chinese version first, ikanaide was second. But as its his only Japanese language song so far, it gets lots of attention. He's got a few in Chinese some it his own composition. I say composition instead of song because Dimash doesn't write his own lyrics. He does have input into what the song should say of course. My favorite vocal range video is this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKXIZJyHjpqhjcU which are fun to watch. Salve salve Carmen! Abraços do Brasil!

Well, you just listened to musical history, but don't take anyone's word for it. Don't ask for suggestions, there are too many.

.The text of this song was written by Dimash. Probably it was the first love. They say there are incredible notes that they are not on the piano. But I was more impressed with how after that he just continued to sing. As if he didn’t do anything special. Sorry if it’s not clear. I did it through a translator.

This song was not written by dimash. The info you have here is referring to Unforgettable Day, music written by him, but not the words. He does not write the words very often. As he says he is music. Unforgettable Day was at Gakku, that's where he sings a D8 (off the piano). He wrote Couldn't Leave, when he was living in China.
