We love Dimash because he amazes us all the time, creating something new, not limited to one musical genre. We love him not only because of his incredible range of voice, but because of his personal qualities, his love for his family, the country and people. If you watch any of his concerts they are Rock concerts with a bit of classic in them. He is making a completely new style of music. It's educated, dynamic and very different. He is causing a stir in the music world with his incredible mixing of all genres, sometimes all in one sing. It's different and it causes us to question what western music has become. He is bringing music alive again. He will always surprise us, thats what he does, nothing is the same. He is a genius at what he does and he is surrounded by the best musicians in the world, everyone wants to work with him but he is very choosy. Love love love!! I cannot get enough of this song! I wish it was longer! You are correct, in that it is a bit different than most of Dimash's other songs, but he is so versatile!! He can do anything!! And, since he wants to be more recognized here in the U.S., I think songs like this can give him the edge he needs! Yes, please react to more of Dimash's repertoire. :-)

You know, he was classically trained since age 5- and was offered a position in Astana Opera Company, which he declined to pursue the career you now see. He loves rock music actually, and I’ve heard is fave band is Queen. I also read somewhere that he dislikes dancing, yet it seems to me perhaps he was just uncomfortable doing. Thus he is working with Artists who are expert at their respective crafts- such as the choreographer seen dancing in this video. YES. Oh yes--with ANY song he can--and usually does--combine ALL sorts of genres, or even highlight various influences alone!! Here I find (Kazakh) folk, rap, rock, and I'm not even going to guess what the slower, almost ballad-like part was at 4:02! And then, to top it all off, for good measure he usually puts a Dimash Twist in it. You will never, ever, everrrr get bored with Dimash; like everyone will tell you, he surprises us every single time. You just never know what combinations he's going to use! BTW, his dad Kanat wrote the lyrics, but with the composer, although the family name is Kudaibergenov, there is supposedly no relation. Oh--and you will looooove Olympico, but there are different versions to choose from. One is seen from various angles with all the dancers and lighting, and the sound is really good. LOTS to watch, but still mostly on Dimash, showing each of his various expressions which really, really are especially important to this performance. For ME, the best of all worlds. Another is a Fan Cam, where although surprisingly steady and close up, you miss out on all that is going around him. Plus the audio of course is not as good, but some people have commented that they like it that way--it makes them feel like they were there, in the audience. Vocal Coaches and their students seem to prefer this one as they can observe his neck better to look for subtle changes. Then there is a third where there's a circular stage with various "rings" which are constantly moving as Dimash sings. The outermost ring deploys bursts of fire. On the next ring (and all these are huge) stand up to maybe 100+ male and female singers in elegant dress, not individually moving, just standing and singing stoically as the ring moves them around. And finally on the inside is Dimash, looking cool as ever, but you actually don't get to see him as much as you'd think, let alone any close ups where you can really make out his expressions. Just not anywhere near as much dramatic impact as the first, in my opinion, but impressive staging with mirrored pyramids. There is another out there which is beyond boring to be honest, with only the audio of Dimash in the background as some older, former Olympic athletes or perhaps officials (I'm guessing) being honored to horizontally carry a huge flag ever so s-l-o-w-l-y around the indoor track...one...step...at...a...time. Probably the ONLY time you'd ever bother to look at your watch during a Dimash performance, as the seconds painfully tick by. Each to their own, but MY favorite version is the first. Olympics, where the athletes are being encouraged in the song to go and do their very best, not letting anything stop them in their quest. VERY powerful, uplifting, and inspiring. If you love classical, you will LOVE this song!! (Sorry for such a super long response, but especially with this song, which one you choose could really affect your opinion.)
