Dimash was born in Kazakhstan in 1994. He began studying music at the age of 5, the age at which he was diagnosed with "perfect pitch". His parents are famous singers in Kazakhstan. I just found you the other day. I was afraid to ask you to Dimash not being a patron, I was afraid to turn you against Dimash. You’ll notice this was no ordinary performance. This was 2017. Dimash was 22. You said his voice sounded mature than what he looks like. Wikipedia says dimashs career started at age 2. At 5 he had perfect pitch so his grandmother who raised him as is custom for the eldest child in their culture put him in the music academy at the university, he also performed on stage at 5 the first time too and at this age he won his first piano contest. Dimash was a child prodigy and as an adult Is a prodigy always performing and inventing. By the time of this performance he had the education and experience (over 20 years) to do all the performance arts you were seeing and hearing , the lights, the sound, the instrumentation with his master class in broadway stage production he would have known where the cameras were suppose to be and if he didn’t he collabed. Did you see how he was the character in the song? That the audience was a character too. Go find the words to this song it is the saddest song ever written. It is dimashs signature song in every concert sung never the same way twice. At 22 here he had duo masters in contemporary and classical music, he played 8 instruments by this time he sang in 12 languages, but if you go to wikipedia they list 15 languages. Wikipedia can’t keep up with him. He practices vocals 3 hours a day. He has a red belt in taekwando which he used in his music video Be With Me. You think you know what you’re going to hear the next time you react, but there’s no way you can keep up with this creature that has a 7,7 octave range and is completely vocal with body in every register he sings in. Heavy metal opera popopera symphonic metal rap classical pop. I’m so worried for Dimash this peaceful person from childhood singing in competitions in these communistic countries while we’re complaining of civil rights violations on their people,but what does Dimash do ? He goes there and sings. He wrote the song War and Peace 2 years ago, had up it translated into Mandarin and sang it in Kiev capitol of Ukrain. Right now he’s in Dubai doing something. Khazakstan is in between Russia and China through the years Russia has come across the border and taken all the young men for their wars and raped the land. Dimash has Dears in almost every country in the world. I was just hoping he could save our auto tuned music in America. He’s in his PhD for awhile now. The vocal coaches can’t figure him out because he breaks all the classical rules, their students come to learn and call him maestro. Come forward 4 years and react to SOS digital concert in 2021. It actually could be the most professionally done performance by a female or male in history. If you put the captions on you can read the meanings in English. I saw below a video of husband and wife vocal teachers thiese words: Teaching vocals in the age of Dimash.

Thank you for your simple response and I don’t know how you found out so quickly about his concert in Dubai and his English responses. As a Dear thank you for exploring about Dimash. Not to insult Dimash but my Neice was a child prodigy that slept only 2 hours a night with a little Add. We took turns (the family) staying up all night watching her. She had her PhD in language arts. Teaching Portuguese, English, Spanish, French and Latin. Like Dimash she played a lot of instruments and gave lessons to others.I introduced her to Dimash. She bought me an “eat, pray, love” Dimash tee shirt. She was hard to raise as I’m sure His parents and grandparents had to find and guide the next talent that was becoming evident. This would have been expensive even with all the musical stimuli there was from his relatives. I’ll just leave at that. I’m glad you knew about dimashs peaceful ways through his music. With his music nothing is wasted. Each song has meaning and he can emote that to the listeners.I’ve watched that sos performance many time feeling goosebumps every time. Dimash helped me in the end of 2021 Thru 2022 thru 5 surgeries. I’m 6’2” but weighed only 150lbs at the end. I thought I would always be frail from then on. But about a month ago I got back up to 195lbs. Dimash gets to my soul. I Dimash is a high fashion model so you’ve got to watch his clothing. And the clothing of the dancers on stage. We have so much from our media, rock itself, using females to sell sex as musicology. Dimash is careful about that. Thanx if I never hear from you again. Your algorythyms will bring you to me. I like this duet of the two of you. Some can’t do it bouncing off each other but I like your respect and humor.

You just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages, plays multiple musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in music. He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 6-8 octave range (depending on who you ask) has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion “ 2018 and then "Stranger" 2021, "Ikanaide" 2021, "Adagio" 2017, "Daybreak" at Bastau 2017. Each performance will leave you stunned.

'Rollercoaster of sound and emotion', is what most people say when first (and second and third...& etc.! ) times of listening to Dimash. That's when they can get their brain unscrambled and FIND the words that is! Dimash was 23 here at this performance. He is now 27. and even better. True! You are right about the maturity if his skill level. Even though very young in years, with both parents professional and well loved singers in Kazakhstan, he has been training in classical voice and performance since the age of 5 . But not only classical / opera, but every other genre, including; Pop, Jazz, Blues, Musical Theatre and the list goes on. He IS Unique and becoming Massively well known. Not because he is fitting himself into 'so called' mainstream, but because he Transcends mainstream, or any particular genre. Dimash simply does it all and better than anyone else on the planet! This was in 2017 where he was invited to perform in a competition of well established Chinese artists in China. He is now 27 and has been in formal musical training and education for 22 yrs. Since age 5. He sings 7 octaves and 9 semi tones in 15 languages. He also plays 8 instruments. He has multiple degrees in music and sings multiple genres. He has a worldwide fanbase of over 10 millions. In 2019 in NY fans came from 68 countries to hear him. He refers to his fans as his 'Dears' as he sees us as family and an extension of his soul. He is deeply humble, kind and respectful. If more persons were like Dimash, (pronounced DI MOSH. KOO DI BUR GUN) the world would be a much better place. I'm so glad you found Dimash. I discovered him the summer of 2017 when Avi left Pentatonix and they were busy trying to find a replacement. Generally anyone who likes one of them will like the other. This was the first performance I by him I witnessed, too. He'll surprise you every time, and I've been listening for almost 5 years. He keeps getting better even. He's like a one-man Pentatonix. Whether you prefer opera, ethnic music, Queen, or Michael Jackson, he'll perform something you love.

Fantastic First Reaction!!!! This was the first performance of the first night of the Chinese competition show - The Singer - in 2017. Generally only accomplished Chinese singers could participate. But Dimash had won several contests in Kazakhstan, and was invited to compete as a wild card. No one had any idea who he was, and as it was his first performance, the audience was advised in advance by the producers to applaud and give him a warm welcome to the stage. By the end of the song, they were applauding and cheering for real. He took first place for that night's competition. The next day, he had 600 million hits on Weibo (China’s Instagram)... and the rest, as they say, is history.

When I first heard Dimash 5 years ago, I couldn't believe my ears either. I was tempted to look behind my laptop like a little kid to see if there was another singer hiding there.🤣 From that day on, not a day goes by that I don't hear Dimash. This song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' 1978, well known in French-speaking countries) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight. The best comment from a Dear under this video: „If you are having a bad day, remember, someone had to sing after him.“ 🤣 That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home. Despite Dimash's planned brief presence, his name was intended to be symbolic and understandable to the public. Dimash was given the Chinese name Dimashi and the 3 syllables were assigned Chinese hydroglyphs: ⭐Di - achievement ⭐Ma - precious stone ⭐Shi - dream, wish. This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood in front of his door. The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". Greetings from Russia! A small addition to what you already know from other commenters. When Dimash arrived in China, he was the only foreigner among the contestants. And he was the first foreigner to be invited to the Chinese singing competition. Before the start of the competition, a draw was held and Dimash got the FIRST number! This means that Dimash got the most responsible and the most terrible thing - to be the first on the stage and start the competition! You've said it, Dominica. Dimash was lashing here and there with this song, high and low voice, everywhere, with waves upon waves of emotions. Not understand the lyrics. Yet, Dimash really could capture the audience's attention to stay put without knowing why, how, what?. He has a story to tell you. As of 2022, Dimash has a 7,7 Octave Vocal Range, you haven't heard his lowest and you haven't heard his highest, because you can sing in Whistle Tone and in Growl Tone. This song is a pearl of the French songbook is a Canadian-French cyberpunk-rock opera written in 1976 by Michel Berger (French) and with lyrics by Luc Plamondon (Canada) and was immortalized in the voices of Daniel Balavoine and Diane Dufresne. I used to think it was about suicide because that is what someone said. I don't think so now. In the story his girlfriend is dying, at the end of the song he let's her go, she doesn't have to keep fighting and being in pain. I think he is contemplative, not actually wanting to take his own life. Being drawn to the other side, doesn't necessarily mean wanting to take matters into your own hands. Just my thoughts. I don't think Dimash would sing about suicide. My opinion.

Many people ask why he's not more well known. There are two main answers to that. He is actually more well known than you think, after this performance Dimash had 6 million followers on his Weibo account and spent the next 3 years mostly in China where his first album went platinum in 37 seconds. Just as he was breaking into the west with a global tour including a sold out concert in New York the world was hit with a global pandemic and all concerts and travel halted. Secondly he refuses to sign with a record company because he wants to maintain control of what he writes and sings without compromise, he has his own studio and production company so he doesn't get the massive advertising (and also the false chart placements) that other singers get who have sold their souls for fame and fortune.

Most of the singers today I have heard are not any where near as talented or accomplished as DIMASH, but his character and self respect prevents him from selling out to the music industry that would cheapen his great musical works, just as they have reduced music today to a low level. This performance the first in this contest, resulted in DIMASH being an overnight sensation in China, and was his start in many appearances and performances in China. Soon he was recognized the world over and began sell-out concerts world wide. Lara Fabian saw his "Adagio" performance in this contest and wanted to do a duet with him, today they are fans of each other. "ti Amo Cossi" is a performance they are together in and you can see the respect and admiration just in the way they look at each other and sing closely together. Dimash is a multifaceted artist who is second to none. Not only does he unleash emotions with his voice, but he seems to worry about articulating the entire show, from the meaning of the lyrics that coincide with the vocal tone, the lights, the arrangements, melismas, races, they are unbelievable, and he decides on everything, even the movements, is a complete and multidimensional art. 📌 Welcome! Who is Dimash Qudaibergen? (Pronounced: Dee-mah-sh Kuh-di-bear-gen) Dimash was born on May 24, 1994 in Aktobe, Kazakhstan. Height: (1.91m; 6' 3'). According to Kazakh tradition, he was raised by his grandparents and for a long time he kept his parents as his aunt and uncle. They all live together in one house. Dimash said: “Open my heart, you will find music. If you open my brain you will find music. Music is my life." He has been training in music since he was 5 years old. He is university-educated with degrees in classical/opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. Dimash also completed a Broadway musical masterclass and has completed his Master's with a concentration in Composition. He graduated with honors’. Thank you for your reaction! SOS is Dimash masterpiece!! SOS is an existentialist song about death, ups and downs in life and death, when you feel you don’t belong here. The Singer , it was a Chinese show for highly respected singers to compete, Dimash was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan and was the youngest ever competitor in 2017 at only 22 years old. This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast on tv he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. He is now a world class artist, still just turned 27 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, (on hold due to covid-19) he also performs in concerts with the famous Russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition. He is about to start his doctorate in Musicology.He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respectfully turned it down to pursue his own more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 12 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano, plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet. Dominika and Andrei , I am so glad that you ventured into the world of Dimash, as you heard, multiple “genres “ within this song. Dimash is a huge fan of Lara Fabian, Ti Amo Cosi they perform together along with the opera singer Aida Garifullina, Lara with more of a pop feel and Dimash is popera. He calls it neoclassical, a combination of classical and pop, he is also a huge fan of Michael Jackson so expect a lot of surprises, each song is different, much like Pentatonix, you can’t pin him into one genre. Thank you both so much, this performance was 5 years ago, several hours ago he had a concert in Dubai, in 2 weeks he will be in Düsseldorf, Germany.
