It always surprises me that in his country Dimash had many critics who considered his singing style to be something strange. He was even accused of not knowing enough wedding songs and not taking part in such events. That he did not follow the traditional routine. In Kazakhstan, artists sing at weddings, and the more they are appreciated, the more often they are invited to such performances. Only when he gained recognition abroad, when he began to make his country famous and introduce it to the world, some of his compatriots accepted him. But he still does not have as many fans in his country as abroad. In my opinion, if he did not have famous parents, he would not have participated in so many programs until 2017. Fortunately, several people appreciated Dimash's talent, and he worked so hard that the results are great. He believed in himself and in his rightness. The girl from the movie was not his girlfriend, but he had a beautiful girlfriend. He simply never talks about it.

I think it was Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney way back in the day who did movies around "let's do a show!". (Ya, I'm old.) Whenever I see this video I think Dimash said, "let's do video!". Why not, I say! It's fun to watch and I bet they had a blast making it.

I agree this is a great song. ❤😊 I also love the funky bits and the melody and the singing. Even at that age he sang like no other. 🥰 Not a fan of the 80s synth-pop keyboard sounds and the production and the effects on the voice though. And the hair! 😂😂😂 Still I love this! How could one not? 😊❤ I was pleasantly surprised by your analysis. There is more to this song than I previously thought. 😅 I should have known. There is a reason this is so catchy despite the weird sounds. This is Dimash after all! 😅❤🔥

I seem to recall an interview with Dimash where he spoke about this video and his father’s participation in the lyrics and video process. He was recommended to cut his hair… I seem to recall a teensy bit of embarrassment, but I love this song. Very cute and definitely has a great beat. Really enjoyed your reaction and analysis. The lyrics were written by his father, and this video and song were created to apply to a singing contest. Once at the contest, Dimash was meant to perform a different song, but the members of the competition jury, asked him to perform the same song from his video. Something strange, indeed. But there was a reason for that. At the end of his performance, all the members of the jury, except for one, bombarded Dimash with insults and very bad manners for his performance, his attitude on stage, his physical appearance...etc., etc... Despite that, Dimash win that contest, and the following he ever attended in Kazakhstan and those countries around him. Until he became worldwide known thanks to "I'm a Singer" in China, 2017.

Über diesen frühen Song bin ich auch schon gestolpert 😂und es geht mir mit ihm ähnlich wie bei vielen weniger "beeindruckenden" Songs als SOS oder Stranger : je öfter ich sie höre, umso mehr nehmen sie mich gefangen und gefallen mir. Dieser ist richtig niedlich und bringt ein bisschen die Jugend zurück 🤩. Dimash hat ungefähr zu dieser Zeit einen Filmsong interpretiert namens Blizzard again (Opjat Metel, Video bei Druppy Channel). Vielleicht wäre auch das eine Empfehlung? Dankeschön für deine liebevolle und interessante Reaktion 🫶.

I caught the conversation between three Kazakh women about 3 years ago, apparently he'd asked two of them out and they'd both rejected him, one because of his hairstyle and lack of fashion sense and the second because he was a nerd! 🤣 It was like eaves dropping on a private conversation and I've never forgotten it 🤣

@@danielmarkiewicz8489 all we know for certain is that Kanat thought up the concept of the video, which Dimash was a little embarrassed by because as he said it was a little old fashioned and boys didn't behave like that anymore towards girls. Given that the band was made up of his friends from university I would think that he roped in friends from different departments to help and that probably includes the filming too. Unfortunately a lot of Dears get outdated information and aren't willing to change their views when new information arises as I'm already seeing from a comment below that seems to believe that Kazakh culture and young people haven't moved with the times and are still stuck in ancient traditions

I doubt that she was Dimash's "girlfriend" because there is hardly any casual dating in his culture and his family. Especially how young he was at that time, combined with his intense studies. I saw another video where it was said that his family would have much input on the type of girl he would date and marry. Like you, to me, she does appear to be older than Dimash. In one of the videos that make up " The Ultimate Dimash Guide", he commented about his hair at that time. He laughed when seeing it in the video, and said at that time, he thought it looked cool, but now, not so much.

If she was his girlfriend or not, I don't know, but he was dating and had a girlfriend. It is not unusual in their culture. The song "Okinish" also composed by Dimash, is about the girlfriend and his broken heart. It is only performed once
