Great reaction! This song is actually about two friends being separated by one leaving along the Silk Road which stretched from, amazingly, Kazakhstan to China. It is incredible how much we learn about the world and world music listening to Dimash”s songs. I would never have thought I would be listening to and loving songs in all these different languages. I never would have pictured myself getting up in the middle of the night to watch a Dimash performance from China on CCTV. Here you also got a taste of how unbelievably beautiful the Chinese productions are…and this was just a taste. This is all in addition to the incredible Dimash…

By the way, this song is also available in a beautiful solo version. Easy to find, just enter the song title in the search mask. What always impresses me when Dimash performs with a partner is that he never tries to outdo them. This becomes even clearer in other performances, especially when he is dealing with weaker or very young singers. He lets them go first, holds back and lets them shine. This performance with Zhang Yinyxi took place at the 2022 Chinese New Year celebrations. Zhang Yinyxi was a student of Placido Domingo. An incredibly beautiful song with two incredibly great singers who harmonize wonderfully with each other. Greetings and love from Germany❤

Thank you so much for this beautiful duet. I love this song so much. Please also check out Dimash singing this song solo. It is longer and most beautiful. Dimash has sang this song several times and most recently with the world reknown pianist Lang Lang accompanying him. All truly beautiful and amazing. The song originally is a Chinese poem. He sang this song for the first time in the show „Everlasting Classic“ TV Programm on the second day of the Chinese New Year 2020. And there he got a task in this show. And if I understood it correctlyn he had to write a melody to a Chinese poem he chose. And it turned out soooo beautiful.

@paulschmehl2124 Hello Paul. Thanks for reacting to this duet. Dimash's duet partner, Zhang, is a bel canto tenor who studied under Placido Domingo as I have heard. So sorry about my initial message as I got too excited 😆 and didn't get to be too specific in my message...😄 Yes, it is for the song, Thousands Of Miles, A Common Dream. However, my request and link is for his solo performance back in 2020. That was when the song made its debut at a chinese cultural program, with Dimash having composed or arranged it with a portion of the lyrics taken from a very famous ancient chinese poem during the Tang Dynasty. I have included more info in my Google sheet request. Thank you.
