Dimash can mesmerise from sitting cross legged, from lying on his back singing, (which he has done) , from sitting on a stool, pounding the floor to get the words across, just sitting quietly in a studio. The song that says “can’t take my eyes off you” is exactly how I feel about him. He is precious. This song Ikenaide, also has another set of lyrics called Autumn Strong which he sings in mandarin. At his recent concerts, he sings the first half in mandarin and the second in Japanese as us dears often prefer one or the other. It’s hard to choose. Try Autumn Strong from the Kiev concert. (before the war). He does something special at the end of that one too. (Christine). Been to three overseas concerts of Dimash now. I’m 78 from U.K.

Hello, I just found you, and yes....."you got it right." Love your comments - you're right on point..! I'm a big Dimash fan. In my opinion, in Dimash's performance singing "Ikanaide" as well as "Opera 2" we are seeing the "real" Dimash. When Vitas, the Russian singer that originally performed Opera 2, saw Dimash sing his song, filed charges that prevents Dimash from ever performing Opera 2 again. Kōji Tamaki is a Japanese singer-songwriter of Ikanaide and Dimash performed a previous version in Chinese called Autumn strong kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIm0ZmuLYqqXmsk this song is based in a true story about Yoshiko Yamaguchi who was born in China, hid her japanese heritage under a chinese name, became very loved. After WWII, her heritage was exposed, she was arrested, accused of being a japanese spy, and sentenced to death. She was ultimately cleared of charges, but was advised to leave the country, as she risked being lynched. Dimash is a master of the story-telling, his voice makes you feel deep emotions and takes you there where that song happened. Beautiful!! A Japanese reactor mentioned that his softness with the hard consonants is a function of how well Dimash understands and has learned the mechanics (tongue and jaw placement) of the Japanese language. It's something very difficult for native English speakers to do. ❤️🎤🔝🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏👏

This version "Ikanaide" (行かないで) ) is the original, from 1989, composed by Koji Tamaki (famous Japanese singer, born in 1958) with lyrics by Goro Matsui. The version "Autumn Strong" (Late Autumn), sung in Chinese, uses the same song, but has another lyrics (Yaqui Cheung, from 1993) and another theme: It talks about the Japanese actress Yoshiko Yamagushi, very dear to the Chinese, who was deported when they discovered her Japanese origin (his real name was Li Xiang Lan and we're talking about World War II, where Japan was China's enemy) and never returned to China. In the original version, the lyrics are more intimate, sentimental and more recognized worldwide. It means: "Please don't go!". Amazing to me that Dimash learned to sing in Japanese, purely to perform Ikanaide. An interesting fact, that the lyricist for Ikanaide, commented on Dimash's level of pronunciation after hearing this version. He said it was the best pronunciation of the lyrics, by a non-Japanese speaking artist. He did that, he embodied this song!!
