Empty stage, empty theatre made this rendition even more atmospheric. Both Dimash and the pianist were students of Keynes (who died from covid). This was their tribute to him. Dimash struggles to get through it. Simply beautiful.

The song speaks of a parent's unconditional love to a daughter, his (father 's) hopes and dreams. So touching . Thw other video is a dedication to the composer who died of Covid last July.💖

Rassul the background singer recently sang a role in the musical Miss Saigon which was performed over three month in the theater of St. Petersburg. Getting an engagement at this theater is not easy and you have to be really good. KARAGIM AY / MY DEAR More than 25 years ago, the poet Shomishpay Sariev wrote the lyrics of the song “Karagym Ay”. He wanted to dedicate a song to his daughter, who was getting married. The father puts his feelings and thoughts into the lyrics: how will the life of his daughter and her chosen one turn out, what awaits her? Talks with his daughter about the meaning of life. The poet points out, that the most important meaning of life is love. Life without love is empty. All the wealth accumulated over a lifetime is not worth even one day spent in love. The poet askes his friend, the famous composer Kenes Duisekeev, to write the music for the lyrics. The composer writes the music for the song, recalls his only sister, who did not have time to get married, because she died at the age of 19. Imagines what kind of feelings the father would have experienced if he married her to a man. Therefore, the song turned out not only about the poet’s daughter, who is getting married, but also about the composer's sister, who did not live up to her wedding. The song conveys sadness, the sadness of love which never had a chance to live. (Credits to Dimash Multicultural Club on Facebook) The second version by Dimash is so sad and was dedicated to Kenes the composer of this beautiful song shown in the background. Kenes wasn’t only his teacher and mentor he also was a grandfatherly friend to Dimash and died due to COVID in July 2020. Within one week another teacher and mentor of Dimash died due to the virus. It must have been so hard for Dimash to sing this song and you feel, hear and see his pain. Dimash sings this song so beautifully... in part like a grieving human, and in part like an angel giving someone a sendoff to heaven.

Dear Paul! Thanks for the reaction. /// I found information about the song "Karagym ai". I liked it. /// The story of the song "Karagym-ay" / "My dear". Lyrics written by Sariev Shomishbay. Music written by Duysekeev Kenes. Poet Sariev dedicates these poems to his daughter, who is getting married. In the poems, the poet conveys his feelings about how the life of his daughter will turn out with her chosen one. Father shares thoughts on the meaning of life with his daughter. In his opinion, the main meaning of life is Love. Without love, life is empty. The poet asked a friend, composer Duisekeev, to write music for his poems. The composer remembered his only sister who died when she was 19 years old. She didn't get married. That's why the song also feels the pinching sadness of the failed love. /// Dimash performed the song "Karagym-ay" on April 9, 2016 at a concert dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the composer Kenes Duisekeev. The composer was surprised by how Dimash was able to understand and convey the deep meaning of the song, despite his young age (Dimasha was 21 at the time.). After the performance of the song, the composer applauded Dimasha with the words BRAVO!!!". /// Composer Kenes Duysekeev was Dimasha's teacher at the university. He died on July 9, 2020 from Covid-19. Dimash sang this song in memory of the composer. On the stage behind Dimash you see a portrait of Kenes Duisekeev. /// Look, please, this beautiful video - KARAGYM-AY / MY DEAR (Clip, 14.09.2016) kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqaVmGSVhZtjeNU ////////////////////////////// Дорогой Поль!

Rassul (the back up singer), this song also in memory of the author Kenes Duisakev, who had died shortly before of Covid. Same reason Dimash sang the second time in your video. Rassul is also very sad while singing. Dimash is not giving a concert, he is alone with the pianist. There are lights to represent the audience. The man on the back screen, is the author, Kenes, who just died of Covid and was a close friend to Dimash.and his teacher. Kudos to the pianist, who is also fantastic!

APPLE OF THE EYE... if there's a voice when a love one is lowered to the grave this is it. Heart wrenching! Poignant! A poet Shomishpay Sariev wrote for his daughter who was about to get married. It spokes about the life ahead. The most important part of the song "life lived without love is empty". Then he asked his friend composer kenes Duisekeev to put it into a song. Kenes compose the song with his sister that was about to get married and died in his mind. So it became a sad song and hope too. Dimash was a student of kenes Duisekeev. In an interview with him he said. "In 2016, my 70th anniversary was celebrated right here in Astana. It was decided that it would take place in a concert hall Kazakhstan. Then Dimash came to me and said "kenes aga, how do you look at it when i perform the song karagym-ai?". In fact I already invited another singer to perform this song. But I didn't want to disappoint the boy. I thought he was a talented boy who has just gotten to his feet. So I didn't say no, but said, prepare yourself for the performance.in two days a rehearsal will take place in the concert hall Kazakhstan. On the day of the concert, you will come and I will hear your performance. Dimash finished performing, I didn't notice when I got up and called dimash. Come here, come here dear and I hugged him. I hugged him and said God gave you not only a voice but also a heart and most importantly, wisdom. I didn't think a young boy who wasn't even 20 could understand the philosophical depth of this song. In fact, he realized all my thoughts on this song". Kenes died of covid in July 2020. Now dimash sings it differently. The last song was a tribute to a dies mentor who had given him a chance and encouragement.

Thank you for reacting to this beautiful song! And you're right, there's no one like Dimash. The last performance was in 2020 a concert in Kazakhstan with no audience, where Dimash performed this song as a tribute to the composer, Kenes Dusikeev, who passed away from Covid earlier that year. He was Dimash's composition teacher at the University, they were close... Dimash lost 2 teachers to Covid, this song and "Qairan Elim" were composed and performed influenced by these events.

Another gorgeous Dimash ballad and a wonderful presentation by you, Paul. Thank you for all you (and other youtubers who truly care about Dimash) are doing to help to expose his talent and his spirit to the world. Dimash has said that success in the western world is important to him so it should be important to those of us who love Dimash as well. That's why I am devoted to posting reminders that Dimash fans (Dears) have succeeded in propelling him to #1 in requests on MTV over the past four weeks in a row thanks to the persistent voting of a hard core group of Dears from all over the world. New fans who want to help keep Dimash at the top should calculate their time zone difference and then tune into the MTV youtube channel Friday Livestream every Friday from 5-8 pm New York time and type REQUEST DIMASH as many times as possible in the chat during the three hours that the program is airing. It is the least we can do for him in return for all he has given to us.

In fact, most of the Kazakh old songs carry incredibly deep meaning and several subtexts. One line of a song can have a meaning that can be written into an entire paragraph. This line will take into account the history of each word, associations with nature, culture, etc. That is, in the Kazakh language it will sound very beautiful, veiled, will have several understandings of each line. It will be very difficult to understand the whole meaning of the song even for Kazakh children who are too little and don't know the history of the language. And when people translate the songs, all these features are not taken into account and a very primitive and simple text comes out (which doesn't carry so much meaning).

I am now looking at the reaction of another person. He is Chinese and is watching Dimash's performance in Chinese with English subtitles. In that video, he also says that the translation is often terrible and doesn't explain the whole meaning of the song. It's the same with Kazakh songs. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpyXhIWLg5yql8U
