This was actually the first performance for the China competition's new season of The Singer 2017 [which was why the crowd was excited for it to start at the beginning] -- but what is often overlooked is that he was pretty much a complete unknown to that audience [he's from Kazakhstan and didn't speak any Chinese at that time], and he was the least expected or anticipated to do much since he was pretty much unknown to the audience [which is why he was placed to go first -- the most anticipated singers were set to perform last on that episode]. Yes, it is the same singing competition. Dimash competed in 2017. This competition catapulted him to worldwide popularity and loved by many of all ages. I'm Romanian,i live in Bucharest,i am 60 year old , and this young MAN he gave me the scale of values ""over the head'' ,a few perfomers shocked me e.g :Janis Joplin, Celin Dion ,Michael Jackson ,Sia ,MIchael Flatley(dancer) and a few other as well . Dimash Kudaibergen for it is about him , has appeared out of nowhere and he hit me violentley in all senses whit an explosion of: emotion, talent, depth, virtuosity, gentleness . The fact that he shook all my senses, is incredible , is Mega perfect. I've wached your fans and i saw that they feel the same as me. What can i say,he is a ''coplete package'' of(and i repeat myself) :emotion, talent ,music, virtuosity, depth, gentleness ,all in a great explosion. Yes..He's a runner up in 'I am the Singer' 2017 where KZ was a contestant too this year..He's an amazing pop opera singer and now conquering the whole of China and the rest of the world.Currently his highest note is D8 higher that the current Guinness book of world records holder which is D7..He just released his number one single called Screaming' which hit tge number 1 spot in China after a few minutes of release.

Yes same competition, same stage as kz and jj but he was on 2017, invited on as the wildcard totally unknown to them, but had won various comps in his own country Kazakhstan, he went global after that first performance S.O.S and his second Opera2. Please, please follow his journey from singer just search YT " Singer 2017 - Dimash - Ep2" and just keep going up episode by episode … you will be amazed and Dimashed!! Theres lots more recent stuff now too, he was invited back as a special guest to Singer 2018 on their end of season Gala show where he sang Lionel Ritchies "Hello" which himself along with his friend totally rearranged … a must see!! I have seen Dimash performed in youtube the other year and he is really a great singer & his parents are also Musician & performers . He was the grand champion of 2017 in China. His parents also performed as guest singers. Great reaction Mum fr. a Pilipino subscriber. Thanks

This is China's "The Singer" competition 2017. Dimash Kudaibergen from Aktobe, Kazakhstan was the favorite that year because of his unique and powerful vocals that rival Russia's Vitas. He actually sang one of Vitas' songs in the competition that year. "The Singer" is the same competition that brought in Jessie J and the Philippines' KZ Tandingan in 2018 who easily grabbed the audiences attention because of her unique style. However Dimash Kudaibergen did not win in 2017 and so did KZ Tandingan in 2018 despite both being massive crowd favorites. In 2017, a Chinese singer won and in 2018, Jessie J was the champion. You might say that, but he did join "The Singer" (2017). But competition or not... His is a unique voice... More angelic and powerful than Vitas. Spine tingling than any classically trained Tenor or Soprano.

I listened to the live performance of Vitas, I was not impressed ... He has an interesting manner of singing and falsetto. The voice is flat, without emotions and colors ... As for the competition ... Dimash had only such a path to world fame, there was simply no other possibility ... p.s. Try to find the singing of Acapella from Vitas. If you find it, you will understand: it is not a competitor Dimash))))

There is no comparison here. Vitas is the original singer and naturally he will sing it in the manner it was intended originally. The next iteration of the song will have a new flavor to it that is closely similar yet different, Dimash delivered and it was wonderful. Only time will tell if Dimash can achieve world fame status.
