Kobyz is an ancient tool of the Kazakh people. It was used in ancient times by steppe shamans-healers for various rites. Kobyzy is made from a single piece of wood. This is one of the oldest ways of making musical instruments in the history of mankind. It is not due to technical backwardness or the lack of metal devices. According to the ancient beliefs of many people, only in a single piece will the living singing soul of the tree remain, which will sound in the instrument. The open body and strings of the kobyz from a bunch of 30-60 untwisted horse hair give a very thick, overtone-rich timbre. 🔝🔝🔝

Thanks for your reactions Pita. You pay attention to everything and your joy is as true as lovely. I see Dimash will make you very happy! It’s a blessing to be Dimash’s music witnesses. Just for a change from the rest of the dears suggestions, I would like to recommend you a song where Dimash does not sing (maybe for your own enjoyment and to see him from another perspective) he plays the dombra while one of his friends plays the piano. The song I s called Rivers of love. Dimash is a Muslim guy. He does not drink, smoke or take drugs ( so, he is save concerning these dangers that often, unfortunately take our idols away from us) and he likes to be always surrounded by family (he travels around the world with siblings, parents, grandparents, etc. sharing with them directly his success) and friends. He made most of his friends at school and therefore they are musicians and artists like him, and many of them also travel with him since they are part of his band like the Kobe’s player. Also Igor Krutoy ( you know now about him) has with Dimash a father-son relationship and all of these people want to walk by Dimash sharing his journey by his side. That is as unique as his singing abilities and music background. That’s why Dimash is a perfect storm, a unic singer and person. Did you know that his last name means ‘given by God’. That’s it. Igor Krutoy is a famous composer/pianist who came out of retirement to work with Dimash, and you're watching New Wave 2021, Igor is one of the founders of the international competition for young performers. Dimash has been a guest singer and judge there. That "violin", is a 2 stringed instrument called a Kobyz a traditional instrument in Kazakhstan, and the man playing it is Olzhas Qurmanbek. You say they should feel privileged to perform with Dimash, and I'm sure they are, but Dimash would most likely say he is privileged to work with them. And I'm pretty sure I've heard interviews where he has said that. Dimash is amazing, but also humble and down to earth, probably why we love him so much. And that's my 2 cents. Your enthusiasm is great though, hopefully you keep checking out more.

The “Piano guy” Igor Krutoy actually wrote this music for Dimash to show his range. The lyrics were written by a Swedish woman named Sharon Vaughan. Igor Krutoy heard Dimash Sing Sinful Passion, gave Dimash a standing ovation & came out of retirement to work with Dimash . You can look him up he is very famous writer, producer, ect.

You said you were nervous that he may not meet your expectations. With the Dimash , he pulls out new little things in most songs and just phenomenal the only songs that I’ve heard him singing that I didn’t think we’re good for him didn’t exploit his range because then he just seems average and he’s not average. Sort of like driving a Lamborghini around in a subdivision. You don’t know how much that engine has in it unless you put it on the open road. Igor wrote the song specifically for Dimash. That’s why it’s so good.

He is part of Dimash's group of musicians, they are all outstanding. When you see Igor Krutoy playing the piano, you'll know that he is the composer of the song. They formed an insanely creative duo with Dimash. You were right, it is an experience to watch and listen to him sing. It's like you are transported to Dimash land. Just a note about the piano player: A Russian Billionnaire Composer who came out of retirement to compose for Dimash's extraordinary vocal range. He is one proud man when he is on stage with Dimash and you'll get to see a lot more of the two of them (he was the guy in the white shirt who stood clapping in "Sinful Passion"). The 2-string instrument is called a Kobyz and the guy playing it is the best in the world and he also plays a lot with Dimash as the Kobyz is a Kazak instrument. Dimash will rarely disappoint and there is always something spectacular about a song - each one touches you differently. Seeing that he sings in 14 languagues (Japanese being the latest one), there is no shortage of different songs to get yourself immerged in.
