It is real! The D8 in this song is actually the third highest note ever sung by a male. The other two higher notes, an F8 and a G#8, were produced by “Guinness World Records’ Chasers from Iran and China. They are not professional singers. Guinness provides individuals with three opportunities to produce a “frequency” which is measured on an oscilloscope to determine the actual note. Therefore, Dimash is actually the only individual to reach these frequencies as part of an actual vocal performance. If you listen carefully, you will notice that he missed the D8 by being flat and singing a C#8. He then raised his pitch to the D8 and added vibrato at the end!

That dog whistle sound was his voice hitting a D8. And the moment just before when he was trying to sing and there was no sound, my guess, is that it didn’t work the first try. The reason he jiggled the mic a bit earlier was probably to make clear that he was live and not lip-syncing because he knew he was going to hit that extraterrestrial note. (I see you did react to his duet with Li Yugang, so you’ve now heard him hit those way-too-high whistle notes a couple times.)

He's on record singing several other high whistle notes. Usually in this song he sings a G7 at that point, which is only a fifth lower. Something did happen leading into the D8 here, but I don't think it was a microphone problem. He might have missed the G7, and then made the D8. Yeah to me this was a happy accident sort of situation. I think Dimash “screwed up”.. he attempted his high note, after all the acrobatics- when u get so high, happens to me, u can sometimes go for the note & not get any sound out lol. On rare occasions I see Dimash slightly “mess up”, I almost see this frustration/push to do a “little extra” to make up for it. I don’t think sonically the D8 is as pleasing as what he usually chooses, but the spectacle wonder & his perfection mixed with improvisation is beautiful & wouldn’t change it. But yeah u can see him shaking the mic as he does when he’s making a sound, but no sound came out. Then he goes for that D8... like missing or stumbling on a back flip, so you do 4 flips instead :) and from Dimash’s perspective, he’s really hard on himself wanting to give his dears the best show of their lives every time, it’s for them. Makes me sad some people choose to think he’s “showing off” or some crap.

Dimash did compose the music, but the lyrics to the song were written by Oral Baisengir, a Kazakh author and poet, who happens to be the father of one of Dimash's friends. It has nothing to do with what you have said. That is just a story that has been spread around.
