I read in a guitar magazine,he had an instore signing as this one.A kid was next in line and he told dime he was the reason he plays guitar.Dime asked him what kind of guitar he has and his father responded by sayibg he doesnt have one, because of his financial situation his son had to borrow a guitar from a friend.Dime told the kid to hang out until the event was over that he wanted to take pictures with him.He waited till people were gone and told the kid to pick out a guitar.

Nicest guy on earth. He was once doing an autograph signing in a guitar store and there was a kid who got his autograph and someone told Dime he idolized him but his parents couldn't afford a guitar for him. So Dimebag went and got the kid the nicest acoustic guitar in the store and bought it for him. Darrell was just an incredible person. The memories will live on forever.

Sometimes you don’t realize until many years later how lucky you were to actually be in the presence of a true legend and master of their craft. Not only just that, but to shake the hand that has produced such amazing music over the years is mind blowing! Not to mention Dime was a really good guy at heart and treated people as equals and didn’t put himself above his fans. Truly one of the greats of not just metal, but of art/musicianship and character. RIP…. Your music will last and inspire beyond your physical body for decades to come.

Look at this guy! As eager as these people are to have a moment with him, he's even more eager to give it to them! This man taught the guitar playing world so much. Not just about how to be a better player, but how to be a better person. While so many guitar heroes try to keep their rigs and technique a closely guarded secret, Dime was always willing to go the extra mile to show you exactly what was going on. He was a player's player. But more importantly, he was a man's man. God Bless You Dime.

Just turned 40 today. I remember meeting Dime in 2000. I was 17. I was freaking the fuck out because I was finally meeting the man behind the reason why I picked up a guitar at 6 years old. My buddy took a picture with one of those disposable cameras (smartphones weren't a thing then) and he gave me some tips on how to to make my fingers work faster on the fretboard. Anytime a Pantera song pops up on my "metal lords" Playlist in my car, I smile and remember that once in a lifetime meeting.

Goddamn, he was a fucking angel, can't believe the vibe and true-rocknroll-nobullshit-honest-humble-havefun feeling he creates on you, like he's been sent to us not only to create a unique style of guitar playing, but to remind us why we love rock and metal, that is, in my opinion, live free and let ourselves go entirely. I hope Dimebag fans notice this as well as i do.

Always had a crush on Darrell and up there as one of my favorite guitarists. Since waaaay back as a freaking teenager when my older brother used to play their music I was absolutely hooked on him so naturally. How could anyone not be?!? Like a fly to a flame. He’s absolutely amazing and just such a lovable man. Rita was a very lucky woman to have this guy in her life. I cannot imagine the loss that she endures every single day. Dime is gone, but his spirit truly lives on. I’m seeing pantera next week with Zakk wylde on guitar which is savage but I’d do anything to have those brothers back. I will be truly honoring them and remembering them on the night I go Love you Dime
