That's a Db major scale ascending and descending starting on F. It's applied to the Absus9 chord. (Ab mixolydian) Thanks!

Really appreciate that explanation, thank you. So starting on F thats the Phrygian mode ? (or maybe thats irrelevant in this context) Not sure i can get my head around all this but its very interesting! and a great arrangement.

@@pw8017 It would be the Phrygian mode if it was being played over a minor chord (F minor) but it's being played over the Ab9sus chord, so it's a Mixolydian mode starting on the 6th step (F).

Hi Kent Isn’t that diminished 6th Barry Harris scale in Bb ,built off Bb major, exactly a major bebop scale ???! Seems to be to me unless I’m not thinking well this morning! Which is highly likely considering my advanced age😮 hahaha 😝
