To the people who are concerned with the plastic halo. .... I bought an additional accessory which you can buy for the log set. It's the plug-in ash attachment. It looks like hot cinders and looks cool underneath the log set. I also had an old fireplace so I already had brass Andirons which I placed at either side of the plastic halo which helps to take the eye away from the plastic halo. With the brass fire screen I already had, this log set looks fantastic.

Informative and enjoyable to watch, thank you. The four course brick hearth height raising the unit up well above floor level adds to the realism. I've a big old fireplace to fill and am installing the same fire in a faux wood burning stove I'm making from MDF board painted matt black with brass fittings which will raise up the Dimplex to about the same height level shown in the video as a stand alone unit would be lost in the old fireplace space and will be using a false chimney tube for electrical cable feed. Only one change I'd like to have seen in the video would have been for the light coming from the window to have been reduced to see how the fire would look on those long cold winter evenings. Again Many Thanks.

Great video! Will this work in a fire box that I already have installed?

What is the depth of your fireplace? So if the fireplace was deeper, the plexiglass would be less noticeable? Nice video. Thank you

Thanks for the demo! I was really considering this until I saw how noticeable that plastic sheet is.

Its really most noticeable if you have a shallow firebox and a really bright room. Both of these conditions are present in this room.

In addition, judging by the fact the back log is barely visible and there is high flame reflection on the wall I think it is backwards.

@@RENOS4PROSJOES What's the size of the fireplace? It looks like is 4ft by 3ft. A smaller fireplace 3ft by 2ft might make the reflection less noticeable, I think.

Remember there are no blinds or curtains on the windows making it very bright in this room, once everything is in place you won't have the glare so much add the screen and it should disappear, also at night it will look amazing.

Nope! The family room in this video has an extremely shallow firebox (not the norm). And additionally the room has tons of natural light from 2 sides of the room. if you have a deeper fireplace, it would work alot better.
