According to Elaine Blake Hall (former personal assistant) "The next time I saw Dinah was when Burt made an appearance on her talk show in 1990. When they first reunited, she told him, "When I pulled into my parking space on the lot and saw our names side by side again, it really got me." "It did to me too," Burt said. During the show they reminisced about some of the great times together and then he told her, "If I ever had one ounce of class ,I got it from you." "No honey," she said quietly, "you've always had it." After the show, I sat in the "green room" (the private room where celebrities relax while waiting to go on a show), and they talked, laughed and reaffirmed how much they cared for each other. They were sitting side by side on small sofa and watching them squeeze each other's hand as they said the words, it was pretty obvious to me that they had never stopped loving one another. As he started to leave her, they hugged each other and held on for a long time as if each one hated to let go first. There was no impassioned kiss, but a very short, yet sweet one as they parted.

This is such a sweet interview. The two of them weren’t even together at this point, they were long apart (Burt was married to Loni Anderson), but they’re holding hands throughout only as two people who truly love each other would do. I remember a few years later, Burt was on Phil Donahue’s show, and they showed a clip of Dinah (who had since passed) and he struggled for the remainder of that interview to be engaged and upbeat. He obviously worshipped this woman, who was the epitome of class and taught him a great deal about staying humble. RIP to these two greats.

Early on many in the press really went after Burt, saying he was using Dinah to get ahead in the business. Such was proven NOT to be the case. He genuinely fell head over heals in love with her, as did she. He said her age never once mattered to him. This interview certainly proves the enduring love & respect they sincerely had for one another.

From the time he met Sally, for many years, he would say the love of his life was Sally, and I would always shake my head and say "DINAH"! Then, many, many years went by, and the last time I saw him interviewed, and they asked him, as they always did, who the love of his life was, he said "Dinah"! I remember it like it was yesterday, because I thought to myself "FINALLY, you figured it out"!

Aww she still had that “love light” in her eyes, she looked upon him with adoration and a light in her eyes as if she adored him. I wish they had been closer in age so it would have lasted, but maybe her being older was what made her perfect for him, for the time they were together, in that I think older women won’t do the irritating things sometimes that MAYBE younger ones may. She had such a calm and caring demeanor and soft voice. I can’t even imagine her raising her voice. I know that SOME guys have said that if you are older than they are, they like it because you don’t play the games the younger women play, and as far as jealousy, fights and stuff. I think it’s because women can develop confidence especially if they are attractive, and look good, are in good shape, and many women can actually age well. They don’t get all worked up like younger women. So the guy isn’t fighting and the woman isn’t always trying to control him. I think she just enjoyed being with him and didn’t bug him and he probably loved that, just her saying how she was so supportive of his career. And she had a calming influence on him I think. Which probably helped him. Where other women didn’t have that kind of gentleness and Calming nature or influence on him. I think she also knew how to let him be the center of attention but when he needed advice he could come to her and she would give him good advice without offending him or hurting his feelings. I think he was a very sensitive man and that his feelings were very close to the surface, and she knew it and was tender with him. You can tell by the way she compliments him genuinely and says such nice things from a place of love in the interview, that this is why he still is close to her, and respected her. And was sitting there and holding her hand. It was kind of sad watching it, because you could tell she loved him and I do think he cared for her and if she had been younger it would have worked. I don’t know how much older she was, but I guess there was some real age difference, and if she had been just say maybe 4 or 5 years older, than I think it would have worked.

She was 20 years older than Burt

Age is just a number. If Dinah was younger, it would have taken the mystery, wisdom & sexiness out of her. She was perfect the way she was. And Burt got that stupid idea in his head that he must have his offspring which is silly afterwards, probably from his old fashion father. He saw how silly it was after he went thru all that trouble with his ex-wife. If Dinah was about 40 years older than me, I still would take her if I had the opportunity. I think she's beautiful, inside & out.

I was fortunate to have known Burt over the years living in Jupiter, FL. Last time seeing him in the summer of 2017. One big take away, and something Burt himself as mentioned many times, is that the camera can see through anything. It reveals who and what you are especially for an actor. And in Burt, the camera saw his honesty in everything he did, said, believed in and this is why he connected so well with audiences and was loved by everybody Even though Brando famously disliked Burt, he could see this came naturally to Burt. Brando, as great as he was, had to go to great lengths and methods to do what came so naturally to Burt. RIP Bandit
