It certainly fascinates me to think of the people who have lived and built these structures so long ago. The lush picturesque hills of Wales are a treasure trove of ancient history. Maybe in order to resist the elements? How clever your ancestors were...They were smart, rational ...They made the history of our World.. I'm happy to see happy lambs on your videos...Maybe the sea won't swallow up this beauty? Dear Anna, I'm sorry that I didn't watch your video first,which I was really looking forward to..We had a hurricane, hail, heavy rain..Electrical wires broke...It's sunny here...Moscow and Wales are like a unity of opposites.. Aww no Irina I am so sorry to hear about the hurricane there. I hope things are settled now and I hope Martin wasn't scared ? Praying all is OK... In answer to your question about why round houses, well for any given amount of material, a circle allows the maximum floor area. It also greatly simplifies roof design and erection, which then minimise s material requirements. It also allows a single, central, hearth, and if present, a smoke hole. So clever🙂 We loved that the sheep / lambs were congregated right near that roundhouse, they were so cute. We enjoyed visiting this lovely and historical sight with you Anna and Alf. It's a beautiful coastal area and I could also see besides the views why it would make a strategically great defensive position of the area. I enjoyed seeing the ruins that remain and what archaeologists have brought back to life. It's great that it's preserved now and we enjoyed hearing the history. We're as attracted to it as much as the sheep! 🤣🤣It is sad that because of rising sea's, that some important parts may become lost to future generations. Always love the shoe cameos! Hello my dear friend Anna and Alf, first of all I have to say that this place is very beautiful, it reminds me of the smell of the sea breeze touching my body, it is very refreshing and this place is really beautiful atmosphere. The surroundings were green pastures and views of the sea and mountains, and the sheep were happily grazing. And thanks to talented archaeologists and their ability to reveal the history of this area to future generations, get to know the history of our ancestors and what they did. The top of the hillfort, which shows the history of Wales, is a really beautiful natural landscape. I think it is a very meaningful place because it is full of historical traces. It is a place where nature and the sea are so beautiful. It seems to be a geologically important site. Thanks to your video, I learned a new history. I hope that such sites are well preserved and studied more. I watched your video with great interest until the end.
