My Dad bought one of these new in 1968. It was pale blue with blue cloth trim. Even though I was only 6 I remember giving him a hard time as I wanted him to buy the estate version because the one in the showroom was white with a red leather interior and I thought that was cooler. For some reason I can still remember the registration number to this day

Great job, as always. One feature this car has, that might explain the bent axles, is that when you tilt the car the front axle moves backwards on the 'pressed' side. You can see how on the base. The result is the car steering like a skateboard.

@2H80vids5 жыл бұрын
@@Rick_Todd Yep, I heard that but look at the bottom corners. The corners look to be at 45°, rather than squared off, leaving big gaps. No big deal and probably not that noticeable on the finished car, just looked a bit odd to me.

Top job Danny, looks great in blue and white! Corgi didn't waste any time getting these out, the real cars were only release in early 63. I'm not sure if the name was changed after release, but they're now known as the Mark I 2000 TC (twin carburettor 2L), I owned 2 real later Mk II's 20+ years ago, a 75 2500 TC and a 77 2500 S (both 2.5L straight 6's with twin carburettors). Triumph also equipped some of the cars with a slightly de-tuned version of the 2.5/2500 mechanical fuel injected engine found in the TR5 PI and TR6, those cars were known as the 2.5 PI (Mark I version) or 2500 PI (Mark II version).
