If you want Barbie to hold her skirt back like the illustration shows, there's an item you can buy in the US that doesn't damage the doll or the fabric. It's called "Glue Dots." Dab one on the underside of her hand and then stick the skirting to it.

I love that you are a Hitchcock fan, I've seen all of his movies. This outfit is very glamorous for dinner and eight with cocktails... I can picture Liz Taylor wearing something like this around the time she was acting in, "Cleopatra," This outfit looks very nice with the gold belt from "Silken Flame" matches the gold wedge shoes (shoes and belts need to match). Haha! Thank you Jazz Hands!

Ooooo. I remember seeing this outfit on Grace Kelly....I think ...or could have been Lauren Hutton. In the movies anyway. And absolutely LOVING it. In Italy, dinner at a later hour is the norm. We'd go to restaurants with the kids, and other people would have THEIR little kids too....it was completely normal for them to still be out at 10.00 pm. (Of course, the Italians still dress better than everyone else in the world....)

If Grace Kelly wore this outfit, it was in either "To Catch a Thief" with Cary Grant, or in "Rear Window" with Jimmy Stewart. If it was Lauren Bacall (sorry, I said Hutton in my other post,but it was Lauren Bacall), then it was in the movie "How to Marry a Millionaire".

@@johannaholmgren8088 it must have been Lauren because I’m a huge Hitchcock fan and rear window is my favorite movie of all time and she definitely doesn’t wear it in that one. To catch a thief is possible but I’d need to watch it again and I’ve never seen the millionaire one! Going to have to watch it now!

@@JazzHands I know. I've seen Rear Window a few times and I don't remember that she wore it in there,but I know she wore some beautiful dresses. She had several outfits in To Catch a Thief but I'm not positive she wore this outfit. However Lauren Bacall plays a model in How to Marry a Millionaire (which also has Betty Grable--she of the million dollar legs--and Marilyn Monroe) so I suspect that's where I've seen the outfit. I have 3 classic Silkstone Barbies that the outfit fits on but I have to include a gold belt because without it the ensemble is slightly loose around the waist. But it’s so glamorous! I highly recommend it and the gold belt is a vintage pak item that really compliments the look. I have 2 Silkstone Barbies with posable bodies and their frame is slightly to skinny for the garments but I think it would possibly fit a super star Barbie as well as a classic vintage Barbie.

Hello! Great video! I am new to the Barbie World after putting away my case for 50 years! I purchased a 1967 TNT in 1967 with my allowance and just found her and the case! Sadly this reproduction outfit doesn't fit my doll. The jumpsuit won't go over her hips! Will this only fit the 2011 reproduction Barbie? If you see this, thank you for your help!

It’s true that the fit on some repros/vintage combos is either too tight or too loose, and it’s hard to nail down the issues until you try them for yourselves. You are trying to fit this over the TNT right? That probably won’t work as this outfit was designed for the straight leg, normal torso barbie….but I’m no expert
