I love the way he sings and all of his songs. He was great with Quicksilver and Gary Duncan. Gary appreciated his talent. His music will stand the test of time. Finally, Dino's song was the spark at Monterey that got this band going. Dino was in jail at the time. Quicksilver, Canned Heat and Moby Grape rule.

I only found out about this album yesterday after hearing Dino era QMS and loving his voice, but wow...I will definately re-visit this a lot. moody and emotionally raw with fantastic production.

A very underrated LP. It was produced essentially for Clive Davis to pay off Dinos legal fees. 1968 same year of QMS 1st LP. I think it is a very good display of his songwriting ability. Richie Havens said he could write a song on his way to the bathroom, he was so prolific. Most songs on this LP are awesome. My favorite version of the John Philups song "Me and my Uncle".

i can't really enjoy Me and My Uncle by anyone else, just this Dino version.

Dino may have been the first hippie rock n roller. I didn't hear Quicksilver Messenger Service until the "Just For Love" album. I know many prefer the earlier Quicksilver sound over Dino's contributions, but not me. I didn't get to experience the earliest incarnation of the band except going back to hear the first 3 albums after the fact. But, I love Quicksilver with Dino as lead singer. The 4 albums with him are my favorites.

I say the first two are the best, but to each his own.

I like all of QMS musical directions...Dino was an awesome, good looking, prolific song writer..and a notorious asshole at times. He had a huge ego and wasn't very good at sharing. That all said don't listen to all that Purist crap. They love to rag him. I can relate to him being a native NYer...he was streetwise, something Hippies aren't known for.

I actually went on a date with him and he wore a wolf head on his head and we went to Serentipy for Ice Cream and he sang to me - he was very sweet.

Well I guess most of the world forgot about Dino, but not me. A great album. Most people relate him ot Quicksilver Messager Service, but he was a great song writer also. His voice is very distinctive but it all carries through in his song. Listen to, "Dino's Song", on the first Quicksilver album. That is great also. Back in the day, I have sern him play. He was also a good performer. I really like Children Od The Sun, on the second side of this album. Dave in Sierra Vista AZ

Hi David, fellow Arizonan here, Jeff in Prescott. I saw Quicksilver at the Coliseum in Phoenix, it was probably a tour to support their What About Me album, so would've been around 1970-71, I was in high school. I was just getting into their music so wasn't aware of the different personalities- Dino and John Cipollina. I just remember it was a melodic, ethereal perfomance. I've come to really like Dino and QMS. This is a great album.
