Here I am, a 21 year old man and admit that this soundtrack brings me to tears because of how... ALIVE it is. My parents didn’t take me to the theaters to watch it, but I can only imagine how much more “alive” the soundtrack would have been in a loud, surround sound movie theater.

When rewatching this as an 18 year-old with my mother, we (or at least my mom) were surprised that this is a movie for like 7 year-old kids. There ARE quite a few scary scenes in here, and as a child I found those scary too, but the movie has always been overall awesome, even with the few scary scenes, like the Carnotaurs and the meteor. This is a kids movie that shows the true sides of nature and the world. It's what makes it such a great movie. It's so realistic, both with the animation and the world we're in, but also with the dinosaurs and animals' natures and behaviors, their noises and habits and everything. Especially the fact that quite a lot of characters (both a few main and lots of background ones) die and are seen killed by the Carnotaurs, that the animators don't try to hide it from the kids like most modern kids films do, that makes the movie so realistic and shows kids what nature is really like, but the movie's still appropriate for kids. I'm not sure what I wanted with all that text, but I just REALLY LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! Kids should watch THIS movie instead of that "The Good Dinosaur" or other such modern kids movies. We need more movies like this one.

The darkest scene in the movie is where Bruton and the scout dinosaur are attacked by the Carnotaurs. We see the scout dragged away by his tail. But as Bruton is trying to escape, off to the side you can see the Carnotaur eating the scout. It's a quick shot that if you blink you'll miss it. I noticed it as a kid and pointed it out to my mom and she was like "Oh wow."
@Rubywing44 жыл бұрын
@@davidstone281 Ah yes, that was also a scene that I found dark and scary. When I was a kid I did notice the Carnotaur in the background, though I might have only half noticed the flesh torn from the scout's body, not sure. I always found the meteor scene the scariest scene, because... armageddon!

2:43 gives me chills, the echoing voices in the back symboling the end of the road.
@jimbodeek3 жыл бұрын
You're right. That part marks the end of the road... for Kron. After stubbornly trying to climb up the rocks to get into the Nesting Grounds, he finds himself hitting a dead end. No way to climb the steep rockface to get to the Nesting Grounds, a sheer drop leading to a painful end on the sharp rocks below, and a hungry Carnotaurus coming for him. Plus, he was still wounded from his fight with Aladar, so there's no way he would have been able to keep going. It was a no-win situation that would have ended with him dying if he either tried to keep climbing or tried to face the Carnotaurus.

***** I agree! I used to watch this movie when I was a kid a lot but now that I re-watch it, I realize that it is very deep. For example, when Aladar and the others were in the cave, you could really feel and see Bruton knowing that he was going to die when he decided to help Aladar. The look in his eyes just hit me and I was mindblown. Other examples are when Aladar stood up for what he thought was right. Also, this film was pretty strong (not in a derogatory way) but for the fact that they show the other Iguanadon being eaten by the Carnotaur with its flesh being torn from its body (even just a bit) was just woah... Every detail that was put into this movie was not a waste. Absolutely one of my favorites ever! ^-^
@MrTardis119 жыл бұрын
It is such a masterpiece and Aladar is a fantastic character because of his care and compassion towards the other dinosaurs and the lemurs and he really proves himself to be a worthy leader and adding to your point of Bruton, you really understand his struggle, he wants to prove himself as a hero but he is stuck as Kron's henchman and he witnesses Kron pushing the others too far and I absolutely adore the cave fight sequence because you really see Bruton's true colors as he sacrifices himself, this movie truly pushes the boundries with the emotional journey of each character.

You know, as a young adult I have conquered many fears of mine. But the dinosaurs that chased after our main character still scare me 😂

I dont understand the hate for this movie, really. And no, "simple/less original" story does not count in my book, because many stories that people love are also retellings of existing ones. This movie is really enjoyable to me, and the soundtrack still hits !!

I learned the french horn notes by ear of tge mellody around 1:20. you start in middle A(T12) then go to E(T2) going down to a D(12) back up to an E(T2), then go down to an A(T12), B(T2), C(T open), D(T12), B(T2),A(T12). None of the notes go above the staff. Frankley I can't explain the rhythm, so just listen to the recording around 1:20, and play the notes that I've said. Any questions?

Wouldn’t 3rd valve be more intune than 12 for A?

does anyone else get a predator feeling to the soundtrack at 0:55? DINOSAUR OSTs will forever play in my head.
