Creo que, sin entrar en repetirme en la valoración de la versión "blue" de Argentinosaurus, han hecho un grandísimo trabajo en el pintado de la figura. El moteado, las transiciones de color, todo está muy bien calculado. Por "quejarme de algo" el azul del rostro hubiera sido mejor suavizarlo un poco o jugar con otros tonos y mezclar varios tonos para integrarlo mejor, salvo por eso, un trabajo de grandísima calidad. Una pieza magnífica. HG sin duda se está haciendo con el negocio de los saurópodos. Espero, por nuestra economía, que vayan llegando poco a poco 😂 Gran trabajo y muy completo 😊

I am surprised to see that you got this one as well and in natural light it looks much better than I thought. It was a very difficult decision which version to get. From the very beginning I wanted the green-gray one, because I liked the color match between the olive green on the dorsal and the more ochre color on the ventral side. Not sure if this will come out as it looked in the promotional images. For the second one, I initially had ordered the purple, but some in hand pictures showed this to be quite pale in the base color and then also I did not like these orange highlights. So I changed my order to the brown. Then when more pictures of the brown emerged, this also looked like as if the base color looked very pale, in places almost white and it appears that this is indeed the case in some areas in your copy. This was an issue that really bothered me on the brown Haolonggood Apatosaurus. Parts of the tail and neck were almost white looking like the plain plastic with no real paint applied. Because I was worried that this would plague the brown Argentinosaurus as well, I changed the order once more to the blue-gray one. This one looks really nice from what I have seen in your review and some other pictures. So now I am getting the blue-gray one and the green-gray one. Hopefully the green-gray one will look good. If not, it will get a repaint by a professional to reproduce the exact look of what we have seen in this promotional image with all four versions on the beach. But to be honest, next time when Haolonggood releases an expensive model (for example Brachiosaurus) they should provide good pictures of the real thing and not pictures of some prototypes that look very different from what we get in the end.

Believe it or not, I actually had a whole 7 min section detailing my trials and tribulations in arriving at my colour choice. But I thought no one would be interested and it was a bit too self-indulgent so I took it out. Different lighting, different angles… it seems like there is an allergy to taking photos of the 4 models in the same light in the same side on angle. Not to mention some utterly awful lighting that I would never have released to the public. My first obvious choice was the green. Btu then I didn’t like the yellow on the belly, and so I went with the purple. Then awful photos and that video came out with the orange, so I changed again. I saw some inhand photos of the blue on Chinese social media, and loved it immediately, so I got that. But I was reluctant to let a patterned one go, so I decided to get the brown instead of the purple. If I could choose over again, I would maybe end up getting the blue-gray and the green-yellow one. To get them repainted would cost me too much money 😣

I decided to watch this video before the Lokiceratops video because I still can't get over how cool and amazing this figure looks. Even though this variant seems so beautiful, I still prefer the blue version, which looks natural and intimidating. Your videos are amazing, my dear sir. I'm always looking forward to watching them. Thank you for this! I like the brown version much better in person here than in the promo pics. The closeups of the skin textures and variant color mottling are mind-blowing! And the pair look great together... The dark blue female next to her show-offy spotted brown male! Definitely a handsome couple. I am pretty sure I won't be able to get two of them. And I'm still debating getting one. But if I don't get two to display their sexual dimorphism, I think I might go for the dark green one (131). I also saw that one in an in-hand video. And it has way more textures of color than I thought it might. But like I said in your last video of the dark blue Argentinosaurus, the cost to the US is steep. And Lana Time Shop just increased the amount another $10 (and took away the Huayangosaurus of course)! I'm crossing my fingers for a Black Friday sale! 🤞🥴

You are most welcome! I really wanted to try to get a patterned one to show what one might look like, whether people got the purple or the brown. The green one is beautiful! I wish I'd gotten that, but well I try not to think about it 🤣 I hope you can get it at a better price. Maybe they will follow Black Friday, or perhaps one of the Chinese holidays. This really is a once-in-a-lifetime model and I wish that collectors who are serious will get a fair chance at it.

I am sure HLG will give us more sauropods! hopefully they will give us some basal ones, although for mainstream appeal others would probably take earlier place. They have yet to give us a diplodocoid!

I just opened my Brown and Green variants. The brown is very striking with it's mix of yellow and blue tones. My favourite is the green though. It's dark and formidable looking. Very natural paint work. If you want one with darker tone, choose the green 💚

Thank you!! I ordered the brown (still waiting for it to arrive) and was really hoping you’d be able to show one. Personally, I like it better than the blue with the exception of the blue around the eyes. At least on camera, that looks too stark and unnatural. Still can’t wait for mine to arrive!

I'm very sure you'll like it more than on camera. There is a lot the dynamic range of cameras won't catch, and sometimes closeup video shows things in an unflattering light that normal viewing won't even have an issue with! I hope you get yours soon! 😁

I am sure you'll find it equally well executed as this one. Both the purple and this one strike me as similar in their patterning and application, instead of being completely different. This one should hopefully be a good sign, since the social media pics and videos have been (for some inexplicable reason) nothing short of atrociously lighted!

As to the awful lighting in photos on social media: maybe people have found the sheer size of the beast a challenge to bring adequate lighting to bear, as it's so very different from other models they've photographed. What usually works well won't in this case?

got my figure today and it is enormous. I'm someone who also collects lego sets specifically star wars and this thing even dwarfs some of my larger builds. I think I have one tall dresser I can display it on but it is high though stable. But the size and weight is tremendous. I've seen that the only think that is still a bigger figure is the Mattel jurassic world dreadnoughtus. The one I got was the purple I love the mixture of subtle and vibrant colors. To me I view the purple and brown ones as males and one like the blue as a female.

The beach ones I have learnt to accept are different because it's in lighting most collectors will never have at home, and the level of paint complexity itself seems to be higher in those sample models compared to the actual release models. Of course, not forgetting that my lighting might also play a part in how the colours are perceived.

This was going to be my second Argentinosaurus but the photos I had been familiar with made it seem as if the brown coloration was a more overall blend rather than a cream colored figure. I’ll stick with the blue/grey for now. I’ll consider another look at the “green”. Just have a preference for a more cohesive overall blend in larger animals. Totally a personal thing.

The color tones down the neck, back and through the tail, with the scute accents, was awesome. I would have liked it more if that darker coloration continued further down the torso. Again. My opinion. Still an awesome figure. Might still get one and do a minor repainting to just blend a darker shade overall.

This is really a hard decision to make. There were so many variables going into a decision, including unreliable photos and terrible videos, not to mention accounting for colour differences between actual product and the paint master. Knowing what I know now, I would probably have gotten the green I originally wanted, but then the blue looks so damn good, and it feels like one should at least have a patterned variation. Very hard to choose even now after I've seen all the actual release variants! I think the most important thing is that you like what you had as a first pass. Then if you wanted a second, you can make your choice once you see all the actual colours 😁

This really is a gorgeous figure. I would love to get one but $300 is a tough pill to swallow XD. Interestingly I think it might be a bit too bulky. I’m assuming 1g/cm^3 specific gravity for sauropods, and that the figure is 1:33 scale vinyl with a density of 1.4g/cm^3. Since the figure weighs 4800g, this represents an animal weighing 4800*33^3/1.4/1000000=123 tonnes. Even assuming the figure is made of higher density PVC at 1.8g/cm^3 would put the theoretical animal at 96 tonnes.

about the size comparisons, my brain just cannot understand the might of size argentinosaurus has next to its apex predator, mapusaurus...its so GIANT, a truly invincible animal sounds a very crazy concept but for sauropods i truly believe some could reach a point where they were simply invincible from predators, even a pair or a small group of them even for 3 mapusaurus adults i dont see them even DARING approaching a fully grown behemoth like that

Very good point. Up till recently, there was the idea that once these sauropods got to a certain age and to a certain size, they were virtually untouchable. Later on, other ideas came up. Such as certain mega predators hunting together to bring it down by blood loss, or even that these predators needed to just bite chunks out of it to subsist, with the animal living to feed the predators another day, albeit with a sad gaping wound. Planet Dinosaur shows just such a scene between Mapusaurus and Argentinosaurus, including a very satisfying scene where an Argentinosaurus rears up and.... I won't spoil it for you if you haven't seen it 😁

I would not be surprised if Haolonggood will produce a Patagotitan at some point. They have now covered some of the most iconic sauropods and they are selling like hot cakes. They are probably smart enough to ride the wave as long as it lasts. I believe that after the Brachiosaurus the next large sauropod from Haolonggood could be a Diplodocus or a close relative like Barosaurus or Supersaurus. But after that there are many possibilities.

Just for those who ordered the purple. its not purple it's brown and orange with a pale blue stripe. Looks nothing like the promo was very disappointed. It looked so pretty in the pics. It also has a very chemical smell and gave me a headache while opening it.

The plasticity of PVC is strongly temperature dependent, hence PVC figures like the Haolonggood dinosaurs are produced by injection molding of molten PVC. We can take advantage of this property of PVC for correcting warping that occurs over time using moderately hot water. So you boil a pot of water and pour it into some container that can withstand the boiling water temperature (stainless steel bowls from kitchen equipment are pretty useful). Then you let it cool down a bit and then place the part of the dinosaur figure you want to adjust in the hot water. The PVC becomes more plastic at the higher temperature and you can bend it into the desired position (a common case is warping of the feet to such an extent that a figure would not stand). When the part is in the desired position you can quench it with cold water.
