Dio Albums Ranked Worst to First

The best part of your video was hearing about how you were in high school when Dio's first two albums came out. In 1995 I was blasting them in tenth grade while all my classmates were into Collective Soul and Primus. It's also badass you got to wear Dio shirts to school because in 1995 all schools public and private were going to mandatory uniforms. I saw Dio once in concert in 1996, Motorhead opened.

Dream Evil is my favorite. Pretty excellent discography, Angry Machines aside. Strange Highways is another favorite because Dehumanizer is my favorite Sabbath album and they're basically sister albums.

DIO was a great singer for sure. Rainbow, Black Sabbath and DIO He was the best man for this jobs as a singer 1- Holy Diver 2- The Last In Line 3- Dream Evil 4- Sacred Heart My Fast List here Holy Diver a great first solo album.

I'd rank them almost the same. I like Magica more than most. But I'd still put Sacred Heart and Dream Evil above it. And yes, both Tracey G album on the bottom. They just don't sound like the Dio that I like.

Love your passion and insights! Thanks for mentioning Magica.. and HEARING AID! The later was a fundraiser for famine in Africa, Im pretty sure you couldn't tastefully constrruct a music video to illustrate the cause or need. So to all those artists credit; They parked their egos at the door and performed with other like minded Heavy Metal talents!!! Ive watched the video many times just to see if I can Identify the artists while they take turns to play or sing!! Very fun!

Really love your description. First two are perfect. The rest always some great songs. Dio was a great songwriter. So there are gems peppering all his albums. When Sacred Heart came out i was a teen. Huge fan. Then, so disappointed too pop. Now, that and all of it has something to love. Enjoy ya. Rock on.

Master of the Moon is one of my favorites. When it came out was a time in my life that I was particularly affected by the lyrics. I especially like the song I Am which encourages us to be god of our own lives rather than submit to an authoritarian and possibly evil deity.

My top 5 of Dio solo: 1. The Last in Line. (not a weak track) 2. Holy Diver (classic, but not as good as the followup) 3. Dream Evil (very strong) 4. Sacred Heart (underrated riff on Shoot, Shoot) 5. Strange Highways (to me, Dehumanizer II. Hollywood Black, Firehead, Title Track). Stronger albums earlier on. Really love all four albums Dio did with Sabbath. Really love those first three Rainbow albums, and the live album Rainbow On Stage. Great singer, great artist and sadly missed \m/ \m/
