@TCraigGoldy2 жыл бұрын
@@Serjao1001 Thank you for that!! Very cool thing to say! I loved those first 2 albums and much of the 3rd! Everyone has their right to their opinion....and I certainly appreciate yours! I do try and pay honor and respect to certain Viv solos! Just We Rock and a few others that I prefer to just kinda do my own thing....but Viv will always be the quintessential Dio guitarist for sure! But my thing was that being in Dio wasn't a gig or a job in order to climb the ladder of success like it was for him.....for me.....it was a Dream Come True!! Living in my car on the streets to Headlining Madison Square Garden and 20,000 seat arenas every night for years.....playing festivals and stadiums with 80,000-100,000 people performing music that we wrote together! All that time in his home studio writing and just being friends was more than I thought that I could ever ask for!! That was amazing! It wasn't just a "step in the right direction"!! Thanks!!

I'm sure an unpopular opinion, but if you listened to Craig play that solo before you heard Vivian you'd think Vivian was trying to play Craig's solo. Craig plays it a little differently, but WAAAAY cleaner than Vivian does.
@tapper14724 жыл бұрын
Totally agree!! All of these clips with Goldy show that it was really easy work for him (I saw him do it live in '87 as well). As far as technical chops go, it's clear Goldy was more advanced. As far as feel goes, I have to give that to Campbell. Both outstanding, but Goldy should have gotten a lot more attention.

@@tapper1472 Thank you again! Back then I have to agree with you about Viv having more feel....after all he did create it with Ronnie and the guys!! I remember once in London we were at a very nice restaurant for a press conference for the "Hear n' Aid" project for that song "We're Stars" and almost everyone was there....Viv came outside and said "So I hear you're doing all my licks!" He has always been nice and he and I always got along....but I guess cause Ronnie was there too or something that put Viv in a "mood"...and before I could answer ....George Lynch walks over and says to Viv in jest but sarcastically ...."Oh yes...I'm sure that was real hard huh Craig?"!! I thought what a cool thing to do....and it broke the ice and we all just started laughing!! Thanks George!! And thank you Matt!!
@brigham22503 жыл бұрын
@@TCraigGoldy-- That's a great story and from what I've read/heard about George Lynch, his sense of humor, absolutely believable and expected. I would add that even though Viv wrote the guitar solos to those early classic Dio songs, you looked more charismatic and larger than life playing them (and played them great, by the way). Great imagery.

Hello... yes, It is from 86 but Eagle Rock make a remaster with an AVC encoded 1080p .There's not much technical data provided with this release. I have the 29GB blu-ray and it is much, much better than you can see here in this video. KZbin reduce the quality a lot.
