This is one incredible performance. Dio is in fine form, despite the devil lurking within that would take him down in very short time. Iommi's guitar here is BRILLIANT, I cannot say enough how much I love his playing here. He always has been, is, and always will be my favorite guitarist. Geezer hits the bass notes exactly as they should be, he matches his sound and playing perfectly with Iommi. Sabbath is at their best when he is on bass.

i got too meet the band on that tour in Saginaw, MI i was WAAYY early at a record store that they were doing a meet and great, anyways the store employees let Dio know how much i helped them set up ect...so i got a few extra min.. to take photos w/ them, AND then they asked my name ect...and got me free passes, and backstage passes !! only Jimmy Bain was back there, but he said come back to the hotel, and got to hang w/cpl . folks, and the bus driver showed me the bus, i asked what they listened too, and he put on the Tower of Power !! I have this on Blue Ray, still freaks me out. Iommi has so many amazing eras in the Sabbath catalog, it is mind boggling how amazing he is no matter the personnel. The kind of tone and beat and flow that when you close your eyes and concentrate solely on it as the main focus, can put you into an alternate reality. So few bands can do what these guys do. In the late 90's I was the drummer for a rock cover band in Houston, Texas called Sideshow. At that time we had a singer named Zeff Kerry. That was his 'American' name. His real name was Zvezdomir Keremedchiev and he was from Bulgaria. Back home, he was in the biggest rock/metal band in Bulgaria named AXAT. They had pretty much achieved all the fame and fortune they could get in Bulgaria so they decided to go their separate ways and reach for bigger things. Zeff ended up in Houston. He became the frontman for an orignal band named Bent. Years of struggles later that band broke up and he decided to join Sideshow. Zeff's idol was Dio. Heaven and Hell became a staple for our shows, and we would perform it like this version (just not quite as long) with 'white shape looking down' and 'black shape looking up' lyrics inserted. I have to tell you, out of all the great songs we played...this was BY FAR my favorite. The crowd went absolutely insane when we went into it. But after several years, Zeff went back to Bulgaria to reform AXAT. I really miss those times...the musicians I met/played with, the people we met during shows, and the friendships that were formed. The memories will always live in my head, and thanks to a special friend video taping one of our shows, this song will live forever in digital for me to watch...'on and on, on and on , and on.' 🤘

The first concert I every went to was summer of 1980 in Dallas, TX. It was the Heaven and Hell tour by Black Sabbath. I was seated first row center on the section on the left side.
