I was lucky enough to see him on The Last in Line Tour, and was at The Very Top of The Balcony, and Kept Screaming Loud!! For him to play Man on The Silver Mountain throughout The Whole Show, and at The Very End he said I want to dedicate this Last Song to The Crazy Fan at The Top of The Silver Mountain, and Played that song for Me,😊 I will Never Forget That Moment in My Life!! Back in the early 2000's I used to run in Van Nuys at a place called Woodley Park, every once in a while I would see him in there walking his dogs with this big looking dude along with him.. I found out later he lived in a mansion very close in Encino, Ca. I'm still kicking myself for not walking up to him and meeting him.

I was in my last teens at the time, now an uncle, and I attended this show. It was an all-night rock festival, and I remember that DIO came on the stage at midnight. The venue was muddy and tired after a light rain, but I was completely awakened by the power of the band and their amazing performance. Foreigner was also on, and it was great. But DIO was the most memorable.

My then fiancee at the time, couldn't comprehend when I sat in front of TV balling my eyes out the night they addressed his death, needless to say we weren't together too much longer lol..i had to explain how I grew up listening to this man,and he never had an ego, just wanted to make music and a fine attitude!!i was jamming out strange highways in my teens in the 90s ,it just came out and alot of ppl didn't care for it but it was his way to stay in the game,a little harder, towards alternative lol..luckily he went back to his older ways with Magica and Sabbath mark 2(revisited)😁✌️🍻🤟RIP-🤟The Man On the Silver Mountain 🤟

I saw Dio in Charlotte NC in 1985. Dokken opened! Fantastic performance! Dio played about 6-8 songs but got little reaction from the crowd. (no big hits) Ronnie stood there in disbelief as the audience was nearly silent after the last song played. Then he suddenly sang, “If she was high on a hill, she’d still be looking down at me.” The crowd erupted with cries of, “YEAH!” (nearly in unison) I must admit, I did too.😮 Ronnie said, “Na, you don’t wanna hear that, do you?” The crowd emphatically shouted twice as loud, “YEAH!!” Ronnie shook his head, “Na!”….crowd screaming now “YEAH !!” “You wanna hear some Rainbow 🌈?”… Then they played “Long Live Rock and Roll” and the crowd finally showed appreciation for the band. I think they played Mob Rules, too. Unforgettable show.

I will forever hold every Dio performance up to the first VHS "LIVE AT LAST" The Last in Line tour. THAT SHOW from the Spectrum...NOT DREAM EVIL was still outside of KISS and Maiden THE Greatest DIO show ever. The camera angles by NFL FILMS, the first concert they ever shot was amazing. Especially the behind the stage looking into the crow, especially during Heaven and He'll, I got to meet Ronnie 4 times. The last time the DIO band played here was 2004. I as always was front row. I have it on dvd and the last two songs Ronnie kept running down to the press pit ( between front row and stage).!It's all on dvd, Ime and Ronnie like 3 or 4 times. He was so full of thanks and live that night. I think he sensed it was the last time he would play Philadelphia in such a small setting because after the MOON tour it was all arenas and big theaters with Sabbath.

Last In Line into Holy Diver back to Last In Line .. damnation. Seen and heard those songs since I was a teen in the 80s but never like that. Hell yeah. Regret never having seen Dio live.

Jimmy Bain and Bob Daisley were both the underrated kings of 80’s metal bass.

Don't forget about Roger Glover with Deep Purple/Rainbow. Some of Dio's/Bonnet's best work was done with him. And certainly Blackmore's.

Agreed. Glover is amazing. But much more known than Bob and Jimmy.

I saw this tour at Dallas’ Reunion Arena. Not long after Vivian left Dio, he attended the Dallas Guitar Show. Wasn’t performing, just walking around by himself checking out guitars. He was enjoying a bit of anonymity. No fuss.

To sum it all up Dio's voice was still so super strong in this video. Years ago someone had a cassette tape and it was Dio singing a gospel song. That was wild.

You and me both. I first saw Ronnie twice with Sabbath in Memphis on both of those tours but was already a long time Rainbow fan. Is it just me or is this some of the rarest footage I never dreamed existed?

Had a pair of Jensen book shelve speakers seat belt strapped in the back of my Mercedes 190D. Last In Line always sounded unbelievable with a amp in line. Those Jensen's lasted so long in the back of my car they had a dark diagonal stripe when removing them. The sun had faded out the rest of the grills. I wish I still had those speakers. They were monster 2 way's! Best car speakers ever. The Pioneer TS-6905's in my 1965 Cadillac were monsters to!
