You're on drugs, a liar and full of shit. Dio had long lost his voice here and sounds nothing like his old self. Doubt that anyone likes this version more than the classic and I haven't even brought up the lame guitar attempt Aldrich did here. I understand, you like Dio, we all do, but lying does nothing for anyone.
@manicdgr3 жыл бұрын
@@lelandgaunt7130 First of all, that was rude. Second, Dio here is great. Even though you can hear his aged voice in certain parts of the song, but that still is great. Not better than the original Dio, but still a distinguishable legend for sure. Also, be a bit kinder to Aldrich, HE HAS RITCHIE FUCKING BLACKMORE TO COMPETE WITH! I don't think it is possible to surpass ritchie's guitar playing and tone. Bass also is a little less groovy than Craig's original version, but still listenable. I think this version slaps and can't really compare it with the original as both are great in different ways (even though i think the OG was better in overall quality)

His voice did age somewhat. If you listen to some Rainbow live gigs or studio version of "shame on the night" you can really hear it. @Angel, agreed ~yet even they will die one day as well. I believe Jam R was referencing the "earlier" generation of Rock n Roll heavies, ........like.... Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, John Lennon, Jim Morrison, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Chuck Berry, Elvis, Ronnie Van Zant, George Harrison, Dimebag Darrell, Buddy Holly, Tom Petty etc...if you get the "generational drift"...then of course there's "newer 'Real' rockers" that have passed, like. Chris Cornell, Kurt Cobain & Scott Weiland and then just recently Marty Balin, Ed King & Aretha Franklin (yes, she also sung rock), Vinnie Paul and more.. Yes Angel, there are Real rockers born everyday, they exist because of their generosity & devotion to Rock n Rock. Alas! how dreary would be the world, for not the new generation of Rock n Rollers? It would be as dreary as if there were no ANGELS.

I’ve actually got some back story to that... Dio used to do this song live as part of a medley with faster tempo and Richie Blackmore asked him to stop. He said play it right or not at all. Saw Dio in Vegas in 2001 and Richie was a guest and they did MOASM and Child In Time, originally sang by Gillan. No other singer on the planet could have pulled that off. Ever since Dio played MOASM in its original form.

The greatest live version of this great Rainbow tune, IMHO. The late, great RJD (with an awesome band!) slows it down, lets it breathe, and shows off his incredible vocal chops. WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED ?

I saw Dio in the early 80s. He did a vocal solo with this song. No instruments and no one on stage but him and a microphone. What a amazing vocalist.

I had the pleasure of meeting RJD back stage in 2005-2006? He was the kindest and most humble man I ever met. He gave me a double handed shake and bowed his head and said" Thank you for taking the time to come see me perform". I was blown away!
@briansauer66953 жыл бұрын
@@jim73challenger That is AWESOME James! Anything I`ve ever heard about RJD is that he was a very humble man and happy to meet people.The only celeb I`ve ever met is Fritz, the drummer from Helix in the late 80`s. My buddies and I were taking a limo to go see Neil Young at CNE stadium in Toronto from Guelph. Helix`home base was next door in Kitchener and the limo driver was buddies with Fritz. They were going to the Gasworks in T.O. for a concert while we were at the Ex. He was a blast and funny as hell! We all went for a late night dinner at a greasy truck stop in Milton on the way home and he had us in stitches the entire time. He was in his rock star spandex and cowboy boots and one of the guys was egging him on to try and pick up a Canadian Tire employee to join us. He walks over, talks to her, then brings her over to introduce her to the `big time rock band`he manages in the back of the limo. We laughed our asses off at his prank! All that made up for the fact they were an 1.5 hours late picking us up while we waited!
